found this today.........an almost entire melanistic A. ocellaris from Cebu......

I said Ocellaris....because Idon´t know if there´s Percula in Philippines......but these fishes looks a lot Percula......

Wow! And look at that really bright deep red one!
Wasn’t there reports of really red ocellaris around Darwin? Or am I thinking of somewhere else? |

I believe that these kind of fish was the ancestors of the darwin Black Ocellaris...........
started with a silight sign of melanism....and ended with a total melanism....including genetic issue......of the Darwin clownfishes....... these fishes of the picture is from Cebu....Philippines.....and the ITF.....Indonesian Throughflow bring these strains to the Australian Northeastern Coast........maybe through Timor passage..... of course this evolutive process starts at the end of the Last Glacial Era......aproximatelly 10. 000 years ago...... this picture for me explains how you find Black Ocellaris in Darwin...... |
