Missing bubble tip
I purchased a bubble tip anemone last Saturday, by Sunday morning he was on the move and disappeared. Haven’t seen him since then. Any thoughts on when to start looking for him? Already looked in overflow, sump and around tank with flashlight but no luck. Wife is pretty sure we tossed $135 down the toilet.

It might be hiding somewhere in the rock. It will come out once it gets used to your tank.
Did you cover all the powerhead intake and filter/over flow intake? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

I did add the sponge filters to the vortechs. The overflow is small vertical gaps and I did not do anything to those. I last day it up next to the return line attached to the overflow box at the top. Not sure he could squeeze through those small gaps into overflow but maybe

Missing bubble tip
If your tank water is not milkyish then I don’t suspect he went into a filter or powerhead. He might be just hiding. Unless your tank is really big and filtration is super powerful.

It is very common for BTAs to hide, shrivel up and disappear in a tank that is not well established.

Could be.... I transported and setup this system in January. Previous owner had it up 10 years though. I’m getting good results with hammer corals and the few SPS I’ve added but hoped it was ready for an anemone. Maybe I was too early. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

It might be a little new for it. Just wait a couple of more days.

Hi! I had the same problem when I got my green BTA, I suggest moving the rocks and stuff just to find it, that's what I did and mine is doing great.

Found it in the sump today attached to a mesh bag of carbon. Let’s hope it finds a place it likes now!
