Don't think they make the Belkin Home Base anymore. Anyone know of a wireless USB extender that would allow remote access within the home network? Just annoying to plug in a computer even if I only make changes infrequently.

Before you buy any hardware i would wait till the end of June 12 when ecotech live goes into action. All the software is going web based so you do not even need a computer hopefully just a modem they are discontinuing the current web based software.
There will be no more updates...

I set the artificial program on one just how I want it and click the inherit group on the other, program all but one is different to the other!

What am I doing wrong, do you need to turn them off or am I not doing something right?

Doh, just realized what I'm doing wrong. You have to click the name above the lights then that's the inherit group setting, so I'm all sorted now

I know it has been discussed before about having an acclimation program that increases the output a % a day/week etc. but what about when you change over from one setting curve to something different? What about a soft change setting that slowly changes over one program to another like if you were doing 12k and decided you wanted to do more like 20k etc. Just a thought...

When I was at David's house last December, the tank wasn't not even close to what it looks like right now. From what I remember, correct me if I am wrong, there were lots of small colonies and frags. It looks as if everything tripled in size. I thought he added more rock to the tank. Apparently I was wrong. If I could afford it I would go Ecotech all the way.

Your right it has tripled in size I see it every day so I don't notice it as much.

I'm thinking of getting a radion or a AI sol or a kessil 350W on my 57G oceanic illuminata. What is the coverage of the radion? will it be good for a 36" x 24" high? Or will I need 2?

I wish I lived closer so I could pop round to David's for butchers and I wouldn't mind swapping a load of frags!

You would need 2 to properly fill it but you could get away with 1 rad if you only wanted to illuminate 1 bommie in the middle of the tank covered in corals.

Dave-

Thanks for the updated pictures, I'd say the proof is in the pudding right there! That being said, David is an excellent and advanced reef keeper, the gentleman clearly knows what he is doing!

We are also experiencing fantastic growth in our 350gal lit by Radions. Vivid Aquatics' tank running half MH and half LED's at a 2:1 wattage ratio between halides and LED's is also experiencing excellent results. We are very proud of what all of our customers have been able to accomplish over the past nine months since launch.

Here is a top down shot of part of my 300 gallon Marineland DD tank, lit by six Radions. Basic point and shoot digital camera. No messing with saturation, etc.

I have personally seen the tank at Vivid, and there's no doubt that the lights are growing coral, Here is a link of the 800 gallon tank at Vivid.

This is a very in depth thread on this particular technology. (71 pages worth anyway) However I must report, that on my 120g 48x24x25t Oceanic Tech Tank I have recently added 2 units this past Sunday. Monday, yesterday, was the first full day. My corals LOVE these lights. Natural mode 50% intensity 6:30am - 8:30pm. 5 inches above water line 3-4 inch sand bed. I will gradually ramp up the power 10% per week until I reach 100%. However I did start my measurements from the top of the sand bed so I guess I have my light hung at 26ish inches with 4 inches worth of par value starting at the top of my sand bed just in case I ever decided to support easier isolated soft corals. I encourage the purchase/investment of this newer technology. From my understanding you can "set them and forget them" for five years till bulb replacement or if you desire an upgrade in light technology which will more than likely offered by the manufacture in the future. This is a great enjoyable hobby once you have control of your tank and have everything dialed in perfect! Very exciting to watch SPS corals thrive as a result of your own implementation of personal technique. Thank you to all making this forum helpful, by sharing your reports/tips of your successful outcomes.

Tank came down this weekend. It looks like it will be down for 4 weeks.
I first put water, sand, and rocks in tank the 1st part of October 2011, I didn’t get lights on till November 19th 2011.
Right after I turned on lights I noticed Air Bubbles in Fused Glass. There were a lot of them. But I spent so much time and money getting tank in house. Tank was already cycled and ready to start building my personal reef. So I ignored the number one rule in this hobby PATIENCE. I wanted my reef I thought I could live with the Air Bubbles in Fused Glass.
But every time I look at tank those bubbles were the 1st thing I saw.
I called Lou at Worldwide Corals (bought tank thru them). The very next day Acrylic Glass Exhibits (A.G.E) called me and apologized. They told me that if I wanted, they would come pick up my tank, replace the glass, and return the tank within 4 weeks.
I was floored. I have never received such great costumer service. ‘
Taking this beautiful reef down that I built was a big decision. I thought about it for a few days.
It’s down I look at this as a adventure. All the corals fish are in a big 300 gallon Rubbermaid tub and sump and frag tank. Rock is in another tub.
Everyone is looking good.
