My ATI Essentials driven 8ft SPS tank.

Hi there I would like to share my 8ft SPS tank run with ATI Essentials, tank has been running for around 18 months .... less than 10% water changed in 12 months.

A lot of people who've tried the system praise ATI Essentials. Too bad it's not available in the states. I'm also quite tempted by the ATI water testing kits, but frankly don't really need them lol..

ATI rarely swings and misses, even with things far removed from their bread and butter.

Thanks... the ATI Essentials are really working well for me and not to be tied down to water changes is a god send

I've seen this tank in person shortly after setup. The tank has come a long way. Glad to see you sharing the results on this forum Brett.

Beautiful pictures and great tank! Tell us about the ATI essentials, people in the US are not familiar. Also what are your nutrient running at? Filtration? Pics of the sump are always fun to see.

Yeah, I have an ATi Bubble master skimmer, and for whatever reason they basically left the market some time back (too much competition? not enough profit margin?) anyways, that thing has been in use for quite a while.

Amazing !!!

May I ask what salt did you use to start with ?
Am planning to get some ATI essentials and replace my Aquaforest balling with it .
I am using Aquaforest Probiotic salt and wonder if I start with ATI essentails, whether it will create imbalance in the trace elements ?

Lastly , any particular coral food you use beside ATI Essentials?

Regards,
Abhishek

Thankyou... ATI Essentials are ATI's take on a x3 part dosing system with all essential major and minor trace elements included in the 3 solutions. Its a very carefully balanced formula so it meets all the needs of the corals in a mixed reef and sps sytem and doesn't rely on water changes to supply or balance out elements. Hence i've only changed about 10% water in 12 months.

They have a new skimmer that was never marketed that well with a controllable DC pump, google ATI powercone

Thankyou. I started with tank water from another tank and some Tropic Marin pro salt. I would suggest using NSW where ever possible, most of the top salt mixes are fine but can be inconsistent, I know Aquaforest have had some real problems with that in the UK. One of the reasons i tried to get away from water changes.
ATi have a lab for a ICP testing service which i've used to make sure everything is balanced as it should be, it also calculates salinity, KH and tests for Nitrates thats really helpful.
I don't feed my corals anything just feed fish which is just frozen mysis and spirulina brineshrimp. Nothing else is added to the tank apart Essentials, iodine and vanadium ATI supplements.
