It's a good skimmer though I owned both it and an aquamaxx hob1 and have to day the aquamaxx did a better job and the pump was much more quiet. The blue acrylic also looked great if it matters at all to you.
Bubbles really weren't too bad with either but I would say the aquamaxx had a slight advantage. It was just a matter of the right water level in the tank for me to get it doing great |

It's a pretty good skimmer, have been running it on my 35g for the life of the tank. The only knock on it is that I had to trim down the input and output tubes as they were too long. It performs really well, and I have been carbon dosing for 6 months.
For best performance though, you'd probably want an ATO or really consistent topoffs, but that's true of all skimmers. |

Try to hear it in action before you buy it. All HOB skimmers make noise. Just be sure you can live with the noise so you dont waste your $$$.
