Building Stand for IM 14g...stable enough?

I am about to build an aquarium stand for an IM 14 peninsula and am wondering if I should build it wider than the tank footprint? The tank is 12x20X13, if I make the stand 35" high I am afraid the tank and stand will be top-heavy and unstable. debating building it 14-15" wide. Looking for additional input, am I being paranoid or???

Will you have a sump in the cabinet?
Cheers! Mark
