RO Water

Guys,
Has anyone used PRIMO water dispenser at Wal Mart? It dispenses RO water in 1,3 and 5 gallon jugs. I was thinking of using it instead of my tap water which i have never had a problem with so far (crossing my fingers). It goes for 39 cents per gallon. How is the quality?
Thanks in advance.

depends on the TDS coming out. Ask to see the filter change log.

I would suspect that it depends in large part on which WalMart locaated where that you are talking about. I seriously doubt that they are all the same.

The logs looked as though the filters were changed every 6 weeks. Here is a link to the website. Looks good i guess.

LFSs near me all sell RODI water for 25 cents/gallon. I assumed that was an industry standard.

Tried this for a few months where I work. Not worth it for a few reasons.
First, you don't know the type of filtration really used. They could have copper lines, which is bad.
Second, carrying water back from the store will get really annoying, really fast.
Third, a proper RODI from BRS or Spectrapure is a much cheaper alternative over the long run. They will filter the water MUCH better, and more efficiently than a store system for drinking water. If you have a friend who could just give you water that works too, but there's the whole transport thing again.

Daniel.

My buddy services those things. He said they were top notch and replace the membranes when they test out to 70%. I told him I was running 99% and he couldn't believe it. The TDS out is rarely less than 40tds.

IMO it's not acceptable.

I was buying water from walmart until I got tired of carrying out the jugs. Ended up buying the Aquaticlife RODI buddie system. 100 bucks at marine depot. Just my .2 cents
