I thought bubble aglae would be soft?

Unfortunately, I recently found some bubble algae in my tank. That stuff is hard as a rock! I am having trouble trying to scrape it off my rocks. Is this normal?

Yep can be thick. Dont pop them in the tank it will release spores. Try and pull them off the rock whole without popping them. Or using a syphon tube pop them as you syphon out water.

It can take over a tank if you don't remedy the problem

I was surprised also with my first experience. I have good luck with pointed tooth picks. a little nudge underneath and it loosens right off. I do a bunch, scoop them up with a net and go after more. I've been doing it once a week for a few months, careful feeding and weekly water changes and I'm getting ahead of it.
