How High? AI Prime HD on nano for corals

Can an AI Prime HD be mounted just 2.5” above the water? It gets very hot, at 2.5”, with a hood covering it (AI mounted on top of the hood with 2.5” clearance), would it transfer a lot of heat? Also the light is obviously going to leave some dark edges at top of tank being only 2.5” away from water. Tank is 20”x20”x20. Is there a tool anywhere you can put the dimensions of tank, select the light, select light height, and so on and the software tell you what corals can grow where? I don’t have a PAR meter. If no tool, has anyone her had a similar setup and have experience of what could grow where? Thanks.
