I am using the beta released firmware and software version SMR_1.1. I did not bother with setting my own custom PAR table but went straight to Bali at 100%. Love the color since it is very natural looking and not too blue compared to my old LED fixture. Bali defaults to turning on at 8 AM and setting at 8:20 PM. The T5 bulbs goes on 6 hours a day from 10 AM until 4 PM. My goal is to only replace the T5 once every 1.5 years. Below is the bulb combination recommended by Pacific Sun and I think many people are using. I did grab an extra ATI coral plus to play with the combination.

Front to Back:

ATI blue +
KZ Fiji purple
LEDs
ATI true actinic
ATI blue +

The difference in price between the Pandora S2-4 versus the S-4 made me choose the cheaper option. With the 75w LED clusters, I have to turn them all to 100% since the tank is 27" tall and I keep some SPS near the bottom.

Here's a picture from yesterday. It's still a new tank so not a lot of SPS colonies.

Aside from Pacific Sun I have owned AI and Orphek and I borrowed Radions for about 2 months. I also work with a very wealthy gentleman in Bedford, NY who has a 4000 gallon system that uses more than a dozen Mitras. He previously ran about a dozen Pacific Sun fixtures.

Omg JP he used old 3 channel PS units if I recall, how to compare with a 9 channel PS with T5 which the thread is about, what's the relevance??? Secondly if I would get a Mitras I would have needed 3 units which would have been ~1000usd more

Not sure if I should be really giving any picture taking advice since I am still trying to figure it out. I use a Nikon D5000. Pictures are using manual setting and manual focus with no flash. I use f-stop of 5.6 and shutter speed of 1/30. The pictures are shot in RAW and the white balance is adjusted afterward using the Nikon Viewer. I believe that the key is to adjust white balance to reflect what is seen with the human eyes. If this is not adjusted properly the tank will look too blue.

Your tank and corals look amazing. Love to see some more closeup.

I just got my PacSun the other day. Pandora S with 4x80w T5. I played a little with it on my computer and have had no problems. I agree with JP though that it would pretty easy to put the basic controls on the fixture itself with the more advanced on the computer. Maybe in the future.

Welcome to the club. Hope you get good result from the Pandora S. Do you plan to run Bali or go with a custom PAR table?

I do not own a pacsun fixture but am considering it for my upcoming build.

I do agree with JP that some basic on the system control would be good. Keep in mind, this is just basic timer/intensity/color control, not the fancy stuff. Something like the basic AI controller (not the Director but the previous gen) shouldn't be hard to build into the system. Better yet, since it seems like a lot of people likes Bali, then why not make it the default then it will be plug and play.

The fan and the bluetooth issues happen on a lot of electronics so it is not too terrible but would expect better on something this expensive. However, it seems like this is YMMV issue.

The setup file issue is inexcusable though IMO.

Thanks! I will most likely run Bali. If I get the itch I might play with the PAR table but it's not my top priority.

I also wonder why the setup file is being so bad for most people. I too can't run it and am running the program through the included setup CD that was shipped with the unit. Not a huge deal but still.

Anybody have any good settings for the PAR table they use? If so, post them!

pretty sure Joe (JPMaguyar) posted his PAR table in this and his own thread. He didn't like the standard sunset, so he created a PAR table that got rid of the red and green during sunset.

Not sure if you saw this, but there was a thread about custom PAR tables on the sponsor forum: Custom PAR Tables
