My male Mandarin. I am looking for a small female to pair him up with. He is doing well, was emaciated when I got him. Very fat now. The dorsal muscle really bulk up and is higher than the base of his dorsal fin. The first spike was broken during shipment, have elongated and looking fine now.

I got a new tiny male McCosker Flasher wrasse last week. He is only slightly longer than 1 inch, but male he is for sure. I did not know that they can change that early, but I guess they can.

I got more pictures of my McCoster today. Tiny fish, only slightly more than 1 inch. One of the picture have 1/2 inch egg-crate in the back ground to compare with he size of him.

Thanks.

I hope I infected you with Wrasse fever. This is what he will look like when he is a little more mature, not even optimal yet. This guy is just shy of 1.75 inch. The get to about 3 inches or so for terminal adult male. Much more colorful. They are inexpensive too, only about 30.00 here at the arm pit of reef keeping world in Corpus Christi.

I was waiting for a very long time for a Potter Leopard wrasse harem. I was able to order 4 from LA last weekend. They arrived Tuesday. 1 was DOA, and the other three were very stressed. I was able to get them into my QT system. I was thinking that the best I can hope for was 1 out out of the three, but fortunately, they improved in my DT. Came home at noon today to check on them and this was what I found. All eating well and very active.

My male potter near death, or so I though.

Here he is at noon (1PM today)

One of the female at 1PM. I did not get to see the third one come out of the sand.

The three of them. All eating well.

I got two A. neoguinaicus (the China Wrasse) also. The larger one about 2 weeks ago and the smaller one yesterday. They are both dating well. The larger one chase the smaller one but only slightly, not enough to keep her from eating or cause any injury.

Good luck with the Potters, they're awesome looking.

This is the first I've seen of the neoguinaicus. I really like them. Sort of a subtle kind of pretty.

Thanks Darth_Tater.
I got two neat picture of my China Wrasse coming out of the sand, in total darkness, this AM. I guess her internal clock not synced with tank clock yet.
I have to leave the night light on for her.

Those are nice. I really like the potters wrasse trio, sometimes I wish I went with those instead of my black leopards. Still my trio is cool to watch interact

I've got a 210 I plan on setting up this winter and I've been debating whether I want to put sand in it. You guys are putting up a pretty convincing argument for the sand!
