Bratyboys cheap build

Hey y'all!

I figure its time to start my thread on my tank. This tank has been in the works since December. Its been a long trip to get where I am with it today. Back in January I lost my job and the tank sat for a couple months till we could get caught up with bills and then the tank continued to sit. Finally anxiety got the best of me and finally got to spend some money on this tank. It pays off to be working 2 jobs so I can enjoy my hobby.

Well as of yesterday we finally got to get the plumbing started. Before all this I got lucky because our local store had a big going out of business sale (got bought and will be open soon) and I got 4.5 buckets of sand for $20. Washed the hell out of it and get it in the tank. Take another step back and my buddy ohioreefer75? (Levi) helped me out and drilled 3 holes in the tank for me.

Taking after what he has done in his reef I went with the beananimal overflow. This is where the sh!t hit the fan. I had taken apart a ten gallon aquarium to use for glass (hence the name of this thread ). Being nearly broke for so long you find ways to cut cost. Anyway, after countless tries and several cuts to my hands the pieces I needed were finally cut.

Next was onto siliconing

Complete. The plumbing was next. This was a pain as the pipe that I needed was different then what was listed. But thank god its complete!

The sump is a 30 breeder.

I will be working on the baffles in the next couple days.

This is where I'm at right now.

Rock work to come!!!

Perhaps you're on the wrong forum (180+ DT).

I agree. I have a 100 gallon tank, and I'm pretty sure its not a nano as I have a nano, and its 12 gallons.

Well I have been busy with the tank. Decided I was going to do a foam rock wall. This has been kinda fun to do but at the same time kinda expensive.

I finished one wall today

I also took my center brace out....

And the new center brace that will be installed after the wall is put in and finished.

The inspiration for this tank was a TOTM from a while back and I can't remember the member

A small mishap happened with the sump. Found a leak in the corner and decided that I just didn't feel like dealing with so $30 later I bought a 40 breeder off craigslist. So I will be installing the baffels into this one.

More updates to come!

not busting balls, should be in reef discussion is all. There really should be a forum for 50-180g tanks.
