Thanks crazzy, no worries.

EnderG60 & Chrisrush, I haven't seen Marineland tanks here and yep, didn't want the 36" depth.

EnderG60 & stunreefer, the stand is made and I had it sand blasted, zinc coated and then powder coated. I love mine too!

Thanks ~sp0ok~, Eel-byte, Jhardain.

Rod.

Ok, we have some more progress! With thanks to Chris, aka Triplesided (RTAW) the vinyl was applied to the back & end of the tank.

Being cleaned by my dutiful wife,

Peeling off the backing,

Squeegee out the bubbles,

OH NO, there's a dog hair!!!

He's happy with it!

With many thanks to my son in law, Luke the stand was welded up!

The material,

Laying out the front,

Getting it perfectly square,

Starting to take shape,

Weld the back to the front,

A bit of bracing to cope with all those holes,

I've got to get this perfect (He'll kill me if I don't)

Nearly there,

There, I reckon you could park a car on it!

Just got to drill a few holes to mount the pumps and then off to the powder coaters.

Rod.

No, not tempered, just standard float glass. The tank builders here in Australia don't like to use tempered glass on tanks. I was trying to get a PVC bottom but, no one had even heard of them!

Thanks TRITON1, it is in the middle of the room! But no, it's not in it's final position in that photo. It is replacing the other tank against the wall.

Ok, here's my new electrical cabinet;

It will sit next to the stand on the right hand side. It's an Ikea special and it's called Traby. I've tinted the glass doors so it's hard to see in and see all the equipment. I have 4 x 6 outlet power boards, which will be just enough. (I can add more in the right hand cupboards later)

This means there will be no electrical outlets, power points, connections, etc. under the tank. I've had to replace the leads on all of my pumps etc. so they can reach.

Rod.

OK IT'S WET!!

Can you see the tiny bit of water in it??

Ok, here's the taps;

Here's the ladder I had to buy to get into it;

And here is the con(de)struction zone. Old tank in back ground.
