I'm finishing cycle of 75g that will be mixed reef (softies, lps, 3-4 fishes). I've been out of the hobby for about 16 years so a lot has changed. LEDs seem to suit the tank...
So I made a list. How does one decide?
Ai hydra 32 (maybe over budget)
Ai Prime 16 (3 of them)
Nicrew 150w (2 of them)
Viparspectra (also 2)
USA Orbit Marine
PopBloom
Kessil (over budget)
Others?

I like the mounting arms of some of these as opposed to holes in my ceiling. All advice appreciated.

I have Kessils, and I love the way they shimmer...but two of my five stopped working after one year. One has been replaced be Kessil, the second is being submitted for repair, but is a few months out of warranty, so we’ll see.

My advise is buy right the first time. I started with orbit then Chinese black box before I got the Red Sea lights and they have made all the difference. Wasted a lot of money before I realized the inevitable. Bite the bullet and spend up front.
