IPS Weld-On #2007, Vinyl CEMENT, is a water-thin, very fast setting solvent cement for bonding PVC, Foamed PVC and Kydex to themselves and to each other.
IPS Weld-On #10 Two part, High-strength structural adhesive for bonding PVC, acrylic, styrene, ABS and polycarbonate. Also bonds well to steel, non-anodized aluminum, etc. IPS Weld-On #40 Is especially formulated to bond extruded, cast, and cross linked acrylic sheets. It will also bond acrylic to polyester, butyrate, polycarbonate, PVC and other materials. I would think Weld-On 2007 would be the best as it specifically mentions foamed PVC. Also looks like #10 and #40 may work since they mention PVC. Although I think the PVC being mentioned here is solid sheet and tube PVC. You could always contact IPS and ask for recommendation.

I am noticing that zebrasoma and yellow wrasse are extremely common in these tanks. I am a little surprised considering the jumping tendency of the wrasses and that these are mostly open top. Zebrasoma isn't so surprising, but I am surprised at the preference to sailfin over yellow tangs.

Im already planning a move up to a larger system (current one is a 20 long). I have a good sump tank (50 breeder), a 90 gallon angle iron stand and i can get a 48x18x12 in trade from someone who owes me a favor.
So right now im thinking, 45 low frag tank (48x18x12), dumping into a the breeder tank for the sump. My plan for nutrient control is to use bio pellets, and if that doesnt work out to my liking ill go to vodka since i know what to expect with that stuff. I have another tank i might plumb into this, which is roughly 30 gallons (30x18x10). This would bring my total system volume up too about 125. With 125 gallons of bacterial driven filtration, anyone have a good skimmer recommendation? External would be nice, but i can make it work if not.

I hope it never catches on, I like having the oldest tank on here and I don't have to worry about calcification, bio pellets, Vodka dosing, DSBs, Chaetomorpha (I don't even know what that is) Carbonite hardness and all of these other things many people worry about. If I had to think about all of that stuff I would get a stroke. My test kit came in a wooden box and the directions say to keep in a cool chariott. I throw some food in the tank, wave hello to the fish and go out with my wife and have a nice glass of merlot with dinner. Have a great day but most of all, have fun. -PaulB Current Tank Info: 27 Gallon DAS softy/fish reef |
