Anyone use the retail magent mounts that are available now for Maxijets and Seios? Will these work without too much trouble with the inverted Maxijet? $25 aint bad but I hate to buy it and have it not work.

Thanks

they won't work stock. But it's an easy enough thing to make it work.

Is there anyplace cheaper to get the carbon fiber rods and shafts besides mjmods? I also need some props. I checked the towerhobbies site but I'm having trouble finding the stuff I need.

On the site it appears you need to order 4' of the stuff. Did you order that much? Do you have any of the part# for the stuff you ordered? They don't have props there do they? I was looking for a one stop shop online besides mjmods.

My testing vessel is Fresh water. Man I am really having problems keeping these running. Seems there is quite a bit of adjusting and playing one must do with each PH to get it working correctly.....Another question. Should I ditch the Octura 2035's? Are these too much prop for a maxi 1200?

Thanks
Scott

I just did this on a crappy jebo powerhead. Ran great on the tank, took it out to move to the other end and now it won't start back up.

kicker is, freshwater it starts right up........

edit, it's a 1435 btw

I got all of my props from http://www.funrcboats.com
If there is a prop that octura makes, and they dont list it, they can still special order it for you.

I dont remember the CF rod part number or anything. Its been a long time, and I dont really use it (but yeah, I ordered a bunch). I prefer the SS 316 rod which seems to cause less friction.

And bosborn1, yes, the 2035 is most likely the cause of your problems with starting. That is a very large prop for this, perhaps too large.

yes the mags are possible, some guy on here did something like a mag18 or the likes.

a very important thing to do when making these mods is to make sure that the shaft can slide freely through the magnet airline tubing assembly, i have to bend and nudge all of mine, the point where the flex airline connects the rigid airline to the magnet gets out of alignment easily and causes lots of friction.
if you cant spin the assembly freely on the shaft then there is something binding up and needs nudged.

Tim

looks like ill be building one of these soon
i just got 2 seio 680's and its the perfect flow for my 55g
but they dont run on my ups like the mj's do
my question is what mod would give me about 700ish gph?
i know that the 1200 mod is way to big; i think the 900 is too
would the 400 be my best bet?
i will be following the version2 guide provided here

Completely possible, but how big of a tank are we talking here?

You're looking at probably somewhere in the range of 7-10K gph.

Its no different than a maxijet, really. You just have to figure out what size props it can spin.
