Question about Switches and programming?
I am using breakout box and also FMM. It seems that the breakout box takes about 12 seconds for it to recognize either Open or Closed. I am guessing need to use a defer statement to accommodate this but how? It seems the FMM is faster with Optical is this the case? And that is why Optical better to use?

When you say "faster", are you referring to how long it takes to change the state of an outlet, or an event to happen, or are you referring to how long it takes for the change to show in Fusion?
There will be a slight delay for any changes to show in Fusion. Many factors can effect this... internet speed, Neptune server congestion, browser refresh rate, etc. However, if viewing the Apex via the local dashboard, changes are almost immediate. I find this true for both the optical and break out box connected inputs. Example, I have understand work lights that I use a push button to control via a BOB, I press the button and within a second the light is on, but Fusion will take awhile to show that the light is on.

IN Apex dashboard it seems to take about 12 seconds to recognize float condition for the BOB; For the Optical switch takes about 1 second.

Gotcha... Not sure why there is a difference. Like I said, any of the inputs I have on the BOB take effect almost immediately (1-2 seconds).
They show up on the dashboard just as fast, however sometimes I do see a 20-30 second delay on appearing in Fusion. I'm assuming all firmware is up to date.

Not sure then what's going on.
Try posting the same question in the Neptune Community Forum. https://forum.neptunesystems.com/ Or open a support ticket with Neptune. Sorry I couldn't have been of more help. If you find anything out, please post, thanks.
