Hawaiian black sand vs. traditional white sand

What are your thoughts about the new trend with black sand that CaribSea offers?

you know I went back and forth on this for a while now.. for a side project.
I alot of black sand is magnetic if your not really careful it will scratch the hell out of your tank. it also show more crap from what i hear.

there are ppl out there that use it. i'll stick to mt special grade reef floor love that stuff.
if you do go that way be sure to post about it.

I tried using my magnet from my nanomag scrubber and it did seem to move a very small like 1% (like one pebble of sand at a time) of the sand as I moved it around. Wasn't enough to pull the sand around but yes I will definitely watch that when I scrub.
