Aquarium supplies

Hello all,
im looking to my:
GFO
Carbon
Salt to mix with RODI...

I read about a lot of people saying some of the chunky carbon didn’t do a good job for them. Anyone know about good carbon?

Also, after i bought 5 stage RODI system form BRS I want to start and mix my salt water at home. I read many people saying they had a problem with high Mg levels because of the salt.
Any seductions about the best salt with low Mg levels? (I’m not looking for the most expensive in the market)

Dan.*

BRS carbon and GFO work well. As far as high mag just pick a salt you feel comfortable with. Don't forget to mix the crystals up before adding to the water and check your 3 levels on the first batch to make sure it matches the levels advertised.

Is there a reason you felt the need to post again?

I haven't come across many posts about people complaining about high Mg levels in salt mixes... Nor do I really understand your statement about "chunky" carbon.
Not sure where you are getting this information..
Beyond decreasing yellowness in the water which is quite easy to see the benefits of carbon aren't that easy to quantify. Most don't have near the equipment to measure its benefits.

I do not recommend GFO unless you have a known phosphate problem that you can't solve via other means.. I do not recommend people just run it like they do carbon. It can do more harm than good when used when its not needed..

Is English your native language "Dan"? Your post is kind of confusing and I'm not sure if its just due to a language barrier or maybe autocorrect?

If you do regular 10% water changes, then you shouldn’t have to dose Magnesium. Most people don’t have a problem with high Magnesium. You should invest in some test kits and try testing your tank water and your new saltwater.
