They need to set up a time lapse camera in the corner and download it nightly after the work is done and then post it up.

Yes. I agree with both of you. But I just didn't think tank arriving was all that exciting. Today the fiberglass got welded and bonded together and put into final position. I didn't go back to house to see but pics are coming. I'm not a nig photo guy so I have to rely on yalcin and he's been busy with me. I promise all the pics in some order and equipment pics.

Sounds good - all of us are living vicariously through you both in this build....can't imagine how cool it would be to be a part of this set up

the time lapse photos would be really cool!

I was thinking it would be really cool to have a live video feed of the build. I probably would not get any work done though. Thanks for sharing your epic build Drew. Looking forward to seeing it come together.

What are you planning on as far as control? Custom PLC setup or going with a standard apex, reefkeeper, or the like?

A beautifully designed Algae Turf Scrubber would help a lot with water quality on these size builds. Also maybe check out the middle size Hydro Wizard pump it would be nice for the larger tank maybe both

Those last 6 pictures... Did the guys get bonded to or do they just stay in place?

(I know you accidentally double posted them it is just a funny analogy.)

I'll bet they (ATM) was cheaper because of how awesome a episode your build would have made for them and all of us aquarium addicts....lol...that could have been all of our time lapse videos of the build and install

Rfgonzo. Ya of course this is nuts. Everyone loves their toys and hobbies. Overboard on money that's easy to fix. I'm more worried about my time!!!!!!! Do I need full time staff just for these tanks??

Atm wanted to use balsa wood not honey comb composite. They wanted to use 2.5 inch acrylic not 4 inch. They wanted to take every short cut imaginable. When I asked them to price it to the specs I wanted, including the renyolds acrylic the price was much more similar to what I was quoted from Ohio. But it was clear they thought I was crazy for building to this safety factor. Also atm puts in sub bpar equipment and rush jobs. So really wasn't even a factor.

Aquatron. How big of algae turf would I need in both tanks. Who buids them? And how much nitrate can they suck out?? Won't the gfo kill the algae?? What else you do for phosphate.

I'm in! This is going to be epic. How are you going to light the SPS tank?

Acesq. Sps tank will be 12 luminerac reflectors. 6 in each row. With 2 400 watt metal halides in each reflector with top cut out with fan. So 24 400 watt halides. Combo of 20k and 10k and 14k. T 5s in between each reflector. And either vho on outsides front and back going length wise or bunch of blue leds doing same thing. Its same set up I have on my sps system now. Except here I will have 2 rows of 6 instead of 1 row of 4.

birth of 2 builds totaling 30k gallons

This system is beyond epic. I still think you should stock the big tank with sharks lol. I wonder how long it will take to fill and cycle.
