Instead of putting carpet back under the tank I was thinking of Tiling the floor under it with the wood tile? Whats your opinion?

Sorry for my delay to your question. I love my tile floors and wouldn't do anything different. Personally do not like carpet any longer. My wife changed my opinion on carpet & no carpet in the house now. And definitely with an aquarium it makes even more sense. The tile planks in particular look great & does fool some people.

My display tank sits on 18" travertine tile on top of a concrete slab. My equipment is plumbed through the wall into my office which is on the 4 foot tile planks. Both are porcelain tile (I believe). And are equally as good for the water & weight.

Hope that helps & good luck with your tank & flooring.

Does your powder blue tang play nicely with the other fish in the tank? Those have been finicky in my experience.

That color is pretty accurate in the photo. Though, the Goni was advertised at the normal ORA cultured type. Not really sure. I feel like all corals can morph into slightly different coloration depending on lighting & water parameters.
