Thanks, trying to get a large purple LT to put on the other front side of that corner.

Question:

I would like to add my favorite fish.

*Blue face angel
*emperor angel
queen angel
majestic
regal angel
maybe a few others to shoose from. Comments encouraged & personal experience I am especially interested in.

I am thinking of getting them juvenile & all at the same time to keep territorial agression down some.

Whats my possible reef damage as they grow. Keep in mind i feed alot. They get fed in the morning at 7:15 a mixture of 5 kinds of pellets & mixture of 3-5 flake food. 2 Sheets of nori are clipped in the tank for later.

At around 5:30 -9:00 artic pods in a bottle & frozen food all spread out for the to graze.

Gigantea's are the hardest anemone to keep.

Its beautiful, and I wish you luck with it.

I've only tried one that was given to me by the LFS because it didnt look like it was going to make it in their system. It didnt survive.

From what I've read here on the forum from people who are successful with them is that they like alot of indirect flow and alot of light.

Please continue to update on its progress.

Nick

Add scribble angel to the list
Also Christmas island orange tail emperor is the best.
Blue face is great
Regal are very timid make sure it acclimate first
Queen angel are very mean it should be the last addition

Good suggestions

I was thinking about adding 3-4 at the same time. I figured that way they would be busy looking for my powder blue & not trying to dominate the whole tank.

Also figured I can put up a plastic eggcrate across the tank & patition off 1/3 until a fish gets acclimated if needed.

Social acclimation really working great for me
3 at the time are good because thats what i do
but the regal are too timid that it should acclimate first .
Try using two large basket and tie it with zip ties
Works wonders.

The powder blue are 7-8"

How's that basket idea work out? Is that for social acclimation? I have a tomini tang in a make shift egg crate cage on my tank because a kole tang was whipping on him something fierce. The kole still went after the cage the first couple of weeks, but ignores it now. Just wondering if anyone has had success at reacclimating a fish this why?

No. Don't remember the one I have. Waiting to save a little to get a macro first. It is pretty hard to take a full tank shot & have it look good.

You should learn sooner than that if its not doing well.
With your attention to detail as fine as it is, I suspect that you'll do just fine with the anemone as long as it was healthy when you got it.

Hows it doing so far?

Nick

A few new pics. The black things on the bottom are snails that are multiplying like rabbits.

Very impresive set up. I was wondering how you liked the Sols now that you've had them for a while? Is the chiller really needed with your LEDs?

I have not put my watt usage meter on it & since it is outside i do not hear it come on.

I do not believe it is running much but I have seen the apex show it on a few times. I keep my house at 74 during the day & 70 at night. Most of the time it runs 77.3-77.8.

So far I love the sols/
