pump for RLSS r8i skimmer

THe waveline dc6000 pump on my RLSS r8i skimmer seems to be dying. It reset constantly if i try to run it over the first couple of speed levels. Has anyone happened to find a good replacement needle wheel pump for the r8i skimmer since the wavelines don't seem to be available anymore?

Most DC pumps are very close in dimensions so I would think a similar DC skimmer pump would work.
Reef Octopus, Varios come to mind off the top of my head, I'm sure there are others too.

Does your skimmer have the pump on the inside?
