ID please?

Still new to saltwater. Found these in my tank today. They are tiny (1/16"), white and they have little "branches" that wave around in the current. I have about a dozen of them on a 3" piece of rock.

Thanks in advance

It's kind of hard to tell from those pictures, but if I had to venture a guess I would go with Hydroids of some sort.

I'm not sure if harmless is the right word for them. An irritant seems more appropriate IMO. As long as they don't come into contact with your corals they're OK I guess, but definitely keep your eye on them.

I'm too apprehensive to add any corals just yet. I feel I still have allot to learn before I'll feel comfortable doing that.
