The caribsea sand is really nice looking. Having a slight blowing issues though from the Gyres and they are at max of 55% now. It takes a few days but there will be bare spots. Honestly have no idea how to dial them in without anything in the tank to watch. I suspect Ill have to dial them down even further which is great as they should be silent.

Looking very clean. Working on my 425XL build.
Where did you get the black shelves? Are those the rubbermaid ones?

Built an arm for my Seneye Reef to be used as a PAR meter. Here it is in the tank.
Ive been trying it out during the cycle as well just to see how useful the other functions would be to have. It seems like the ammonia readings are way off as im adding 2ppm ammonia and it registers like 0.04 after adding and works its way down to 0.0001 in about 36 hours. While it detects the presence and seems to reduce down in the same timeframe my Redsea test kits show 0 it is way off on the value. The pH is way off as well. It is showing 8.11 when my calibrated pH probes are showing between 7.6 and 7.7. Maybe something while cycling the tank screws it up. I certainly wont be buying replacement slides. The other thing driving me crazy is the flashing red replace slide led. Ive tried everything on their website. Maybe this is why the readings are so far off? Bad slide? Bad Unit? Maybe Ill contact them and let them know how poor this thing is out of the box and see what they do. |

Getting close to finishing my rock work. Quarantine tanks are still cycling so patiently waiting to get my first batch of fish and coral.

Great set up, nice and un-cluttered. Based on your FW tanks I'm sure this reef will look awesome too.

Received my cover today. Love it. No worries about prized fish ending up on the floor.

Who did you get the cover from?
My new CadLight 125 came with glass covers, but I'm not using them. Besides, I don't have any jumpers...yet. But your cover looks very well made and clean looking.

Thanks guys, I see they make one for my CadLight Artisan 125 too. I think I'll order one.

Wow, loving everything so far. Assuming you built the shelving unit and the stand for your planted tank and QT's as well?
Attention to detail is top notch. The Reefer definitely has a ton of potential in the right hands, and you, my friend, are executing! Sub'd |

Awesome build, I'm following this. This is one of the few tanks on my short list for my next build.

Modified the sump area. Removed the fuge tank as I felt it was just too tight underneath and made maintenance harder than i cared for. Also fixed my ATO from drip siphoning. The reservoir was a bit too tall so ended up strapping a tube onto the down drain and inserting the ATO tubing inside it. Raising up the exit point above the reservoir. Simple and effective.
Fish QT cycled finally and was able to get a couple of fish. Im having issues with the pH measurment with my new Apex. I have calibrated it 4 times now over the last two months. It reads between 7.5 to 7.6 depending on the time of day. I have another calibrated ph monitor (pinpoint). It reads higher (7.7 to 7.8). Both monitors read the calibration fluids (7 and 10) quite close like within (0.02 or 0.03 when flipping between them) Ive taken samples to the LFS and they measured it at 8.05 with one monitor and 8.09 with another. So Im left wondering what is my pH? I have zero faith in any of the readings. Any suggestions on what to do so I can trust my Apex pH readings? |
