Really cool. Just finished my first build. Wish I had thought of the all ply stand. Would have given me lots more internal space without all my 2×4 framing

What did you use to paint the inside of your stand?

I had some leftover Kilz Glossy Latex. Also, I caulked all creases and corners with white silicone.

Outstanding job on the stand! I really like those SCA tanks, especially the 150's!

Have help to set the tank on the stand on Thursday. I’m excited. Borrowed these suction cups.

Mounted some of the apex equipment in the basement with the water station. The tank is directly above through the floor access.

Mocked up a little plumbing. Will replace with better looking pipe. Concerned with the tee off the durso drain but have no choice to feed the refuge and skimmer on other side.

mls228’s SCA 150g Build Thread

Power. Fresh breaker position with GFI and kill switch. I had the kill on my last system and I liked it if something bad was happening like a broken pipe and the switch would kill all the pumps instead of fumbling with the computer.

Also I wired for 20A service since the incremental cost was low and it gives me 600W headroom over 15A service.

Nice job so far! No more hauling buckets with the water system you are building!

What type of tank is that, custom, glass? It's the same dimensions I was looking into using on my next build.

Thanks!

It’s an SCA Aquariums 150 rimless. My last 125 was a marine land and I always regretted it.

looks amazing, I'm going to be starting my 125 build soon, it won't be as high tech but hopefully I can get it to look just as clean.

What is the light you're using for your chaeto?
