Feeding NPS Corals Chaeto Juice.

Have read about a hobbist using blended chaeto, combined with the blend juice & tank water, to very successfully dose feed Umbellulifera & Dendronephthya non photosynthesizing corals. Apparently the DOC released is on their menu.

That's really interesting. 2 questions.
What would the natural analogue of this be? An area with lots of herbivores constantly biting and tearing algae?

So if I took a fraction of my chaeto export and pulverized it, then poured it back in the tank, what if anything would we expect to benefit?
