Question:
I know that shipping is very stressful on the Tamarin, can they be shipped in a bag that has maybe an 1" or so of sand on the bottom.

My Anampses Meleagrides is about 3" and it doesn't have the twin spots by the tail fin. Do they get the spots as they mature?

Might be A. melanurus; picture? Else it's transitioning to male; juvis and females will retain those spots.

I added three New Guinea wrasses about two weeks ago. Came via quality marine mac certified. They are all eating well frozen foods. My male Kuiter leopard harassed them for a day or two but gave up quickly. In the past I've kept two for five + years each in separate reef tanks. The last one was well over 8" when he died a few month ago. Great peaceful fish that are one of the most remarked upon in a tank full of pretty fish.

Good reading,
I'm assuming my A. Neoguinaicus has the same requirements as listed? |

Since she is transitioning to a male, I got it a female....
Picked up a female Anampses femininus from DD.
It's not always peaceful, however...fingers crossed.

Since yesterday I am the proud owner of this beautiful Anampses Neoguinaicus.
So far it has already eaten some live mysis, frozen brine shrimp and bloodworms. I know it's going to be a serious challenge if I want to keep this fish long term, but the start is promising. |

Beautiful Tamarin and are pretty hardy once established. I have mine a few years now.

I think it's key to pick a healthy looking fish thats already eating. Mine ate live mysis and brine shrimp from the start. It didn't take long for the fish to get used to frozen food.

Blue spot: I've read these are tougher to get eating but thought I got a good juvi female. I've read they last about 1-2 months in the home of they don't eat, but mine was eating mysis, flakes and sometimes pellets. She only lasted that long and then started getting really thin. Treated with prazi so not sure why she took a turn for the worse?
Does this particular tamarin do poorly compared to other species just as WWM says for instance?
