Algae with change of lights
Hello
I changed my lighting fixture 15 days ago I went for Mh and t5 combo from led fixture from orbit extreme. Now I having a little problem with green Hair algae. No3 level is 6ppm Po4 level is 0.02 This process is normal? I have to do something? Thank you |

Yes sir. You gave the correct lighting for it, coupled with the excess nutrients in your system, algae will flourish. Water changes or an ATS or chaeto reactor.

It’s completely normal. I’d just get a good clean up crew and wait. Those numbers don’t look high to me but if you are worried about it, a macro algae fuge, algae scrubber or water changes will help export the extra NO3 and PO4. It’ll take time to balance your system with the new lights.
