Lights have been running at 100% all colors for 3 hours a day for a couple of months now.
I bumped it up to 3 1/2 hours at 100% all colors today.
Artificial. Lights on at 6 am. At 9am they are set at 20k(100%). 11:30 to 3 100% with with all colors. 3:30 back to 20k (100%) lights off at 8:30

I'm really happy with how it turned out.. not sure i'd do it any other way.
Still need to figure out how to better hide those power supplies for the lights though.. maybe i'll build an electronics box to match my stand.

This is the best I have seen yet. I'm not a designer by any means, but I believe the addition of the spacers and the bar stock that is proportionate to the fixtures creates a very balanced fixture vidually.

This is a little similar to what I was thinking of doing with the bar connecting them, but then using an arched piece of round stock to connect them to the stand.

Hoping for EcoTech Marine to answer this:
Would 3 Radion's on a 100 gallon 48"x24"x20" be overkill?
With 2 Radion's on the tank mentioned ^, how high above the water surface should the Radion's be?

Nice program for sharing...

Above link is my program for sharing.

After a few months of tinkering with all sorts of color combinations, this is what I've come up with.

Note, I have 120 DT (250g system) mixed reef with two Radians mounted flush inside the canopy. I have two spotlights that come on from 12pm - 9pm so the blue fade in the evening looks really sharp with the contrasting spotlights (1 Par 38 12k, 1 Home Depot LED 5k).

Note, the attached program is now actually time shifted behind due to daylight savings time. (e.g., for any programming changings I would now manually alter the program clock back 1 hour). My program’s day starts at 9am (10am DST) and ends at 9pm (10pm DST).

What I like most about this program is the cool blue/red early morning colours, followed by a long gradual brightening with a hint of the green I think Ecotech orignally meant to have, but this version is much more appealing (enjoy having cup of coffee late Saturday morning in recliner watching the fish and lighting come up).

The main part of the day is full sprecturm, then fades into blue/red into late evening - really popping the multi colors in the tank especially the reds. Then fades into blue after midnight and then some red into the 2am hour before going dark.

Makes me happy.

Take a look or try it on and let me know what you think. If you've come up with anything interesting, likewise share.

Regards
Richard

I'm about 2 weeks old in to reefing. Maybe it's not much but I'm excited to see growth! I thought none of my pieces were in the last couple weeks. I wouldn't have noticed any at all if I hadn't take pictures. After comparing my pictures it is noticeable in just 10 days. This is the only one that I really didn't move around to much so it easier to compare the before and after.

Artificial mode. Lights on 6:00 A.M. At 8:00 A.M. set to 20k. At 10:30 to 3:30 everything is 100%. At 5:00 P.M. 20k. 8:30 P.M. lights off. I have been running this for 5 days now. I will leave settings here. I think this is what I want.

Thanks David, I didn't know that pieces could grow like that in ten days. Your tank looks very nice and I'd like to hopefully have something similar one day. I have a 125 long. All frags for now.

Hey man! Yeah, I have not had time to lately plus going through some changes in the tank that is non light related. Most of my corals are still growing and holding color! I just am dealing with diatom outbreak and looking at installing a biopellets reactor to help bring my reef to the next level.

Here you go

I wanted to respond to david00061 with a couple of pics of my tank lit under the amazing Radions! Please excuse the poor picture quality as I have a lot to learn and don't have all the nice lenses as you do david00061.

These were just taken today 4/1/12

Wanted to share my implementation of my two Radion lights with a single 250w MH that kicks in for 4.5 hours during the peak of the cycle. Made the hanger bar out of square aluminum and a variety of parts.

So.. at 6am they come on. What percentage are they at at 8 am and again at 5? Do they hit 100% at 8 and 5? or are they of a lesser % at these times?

At 6:00 A.M. it is default settings kind of an ugly morning color. At 8:00 A.M 20k with over all intisty at 100%. then 5:00p.m 20k with over all intisty at 100%. Well from 5:00 to lights out program just slowly ramps down.
I get great growth and color. I will post more pics this weekend.
I need to borrow a Par meter. As I have 12 units 8" above water. Tank size 109x40x27
Here is build if you want to see some growth shots. There are a few growth shoots in this thread as well.
