Finally set up the lights!
Built my own for less than $30 including purchasing the Radion hanging kit. Sprayed the C channel black to match the Radions, and I'm loving it Ended up supporting the ceiling with 2x4s so I can sleep at night. So far it's coming along. Gotta purchase some cement, glue, and some other minerals. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Check out this skimmate
Also swapped out a MR1 for this Reactor, not sure if this is what I wanted. Since I was planning on hard plumbing everything, but I'll play around with it and see what I can do. Most likely I'll be running phos & carbon. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Finally transferred everything over to the reefer. All of my live rock with the exception of 15lbs fit in the tank and the sump.
Got a nice Caribbean blue tang and another six line wrasse. They are both doing great, and already coming out for food. Also added my mp10 to the tank. Currently running 3 but as soon as I get my fourth back from Ecotech I will add it. 2 on the rear and 2 on the sides. After I placed all my live stock and live rock my nyos filled up almost all of the skimmate cup, and is working great! The tank is literally quiet, gotta walk by to make sure it's working lol. Have just had a read through, and really like what you've done with the new tank - It looks fantastic now that you've transferred over.
Given I'm looking to set up a 75G system with pretty close to the same lighting (Radions), a Vectra pump and 2 MP10s/1 MP40, (and now that I've seen it probably a Nyos skimmer), I think I'll be watching how your system progresses closely. Also nice to hear that this sort of setup is close to silent . |

Thanks! Well this weekend is off to a great start! Started and did most of my manifold for the tank. So far it's doing great, and came out how I want it. Hopefully by this weekend I can get it completed. The next valve is for the refugium...once I complete that, I'll attach the proper Sch80 and be rolling! Right now, I don't see any issues with leaks or noise. I did hard plumb the Vectra to the reefers return pipe...however it is removable. I found that a 3/4 male Sch80 with some plumbers tape done the job. I also added some unions in case I needed to remove and go back to stock. Haven't done any tests except salinity...I should at least check my calcium and alk levels asap. Stay tuned!!! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Tanks looking great, loving the sump work (lashed out and bought a couple of MP40QDs by the way ).
Not sure its intentional, but I am wondering from a filtration point of view if you are looking to get copepods/fauna out of that fuge for your aquatic residents. As it stands it looks like you are filter bagging your outgoing from that part of the system, which means you are probably losing out on a lot of this potential. Just something to think about in terms of the outgoing flow. |

Thanks appreciate it! I hope you got at least two MP40s...you need some flow in that tank Yea the filter bag was to pick up the detritus from the live rock rubble. I ended up breaking several pieces to make rubble and it created a mess, so I used it as a temp filtration for the fuge. It's been removed! Here's some more pictures of the Fuge...I drilled it and it came out good! Just adjusting the flow. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Got 90% of the cabinet done.
Before picture: Still trying to figure out where I can put my Vectra remote...looks pretty odd in that one corner. I was thinking about moving it to the left side of the sump, but I am afraid it falls inside the sump. Unless I use the mount that it came with and is 100% sure it is sturdy. I also built a wall to secure and enclose all of the unnecessary wires lol. Didn't want to tighten down the a/c adapters too tight on the board but they are secure. The radions unit is sitting sideways, so it can get some air circulating. I ended up using a monster powerbar/surge protector because I opt out of getting an apex. Don't think an apex is for me at this time. Maybe in the future if I stumble across a good deal, then maybe....until then I'm happy how things are. Here's the after: I built the wall with the intent on using that ATO container. So it sits right below the floating shelf comfortably. I'm still debating on how o should run the ATO tubes/wires because it does not need to be in the back of the wall....I had issues with my past ATO and well...I like it to be accessible. The floating shelf was a must, because I need to still keep my essentials at hand at all times. I may built more on the left side on top of the sump. But I'm also looking to get a nice doser to help with make life a bit easier. So far, it's coming along as I envisioned it Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Regular 5k daylight from homedepot. Couldn't find anything higher than 5k, or else I would've gotten a 6500k. So far it's doing great. I keep it on for at least 24 hours. Then randomly turn it off for a couple of hours. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Looks great. Love the idea of making a refugium out of the ato container.

Update:
Livestock: 1) clown pair 2) mean kole tang 3) Lyre Tail anthias trio 4) six line wrasse 5) various snails, hermits, cleaner shrimp, conch Currently running AWC and dosing Ca, Alk, Mag with Red Sea Foundation (powder). Powered by Kore 5th Doser. Recently switch from Red Sea Pro salt to Fritz, which is doing well so far. The AWC schedule handles 10% weekly change from the system. Everything is doing fine so far. Had some mean hair algae last week. So I figured it was time to just run GFO in the Reactor. Purchased come more snails and ran the Kore on a 20% schedule. Literally all the hair algae is gone. As for Carbon, I'm running it inside of a filter sock and it seems to be doing just fine. The fuge is doing well. Have several different macro algae growing and fighting for space. So I'm constantly trimming the Cheato since it grows so quickly. Parameters: CAL:490 Alk:6.8 (it has been steadily running between 5.5-6) Mag:1200 Salt: 1.024-1.026 (anywhere in between) The Radions run 10hrs a day on a custom schedule. Mostly blues at 100%. Nyos Skimmer is a beast. I'm really loving the skimmate that she pulls weekly. It was a pain to get it dialed in, but once it was dialed it, the rest was history. Last week my male anthias jumped, and I found him on the floor. Luckily I was feeding and cleaning so I saw him. He was probably on the floor for five minutes (max). The next day I purchase all the necessary components to make a custom lid. He survived and is thriving and fighting with his mates. Now I can sleep comfortably without worry. Random shots... excuse the larger misplaced frags. Currently frag sitting for a friend lol Goals: 1) another tang 2) yellow wrasse or blue jaw goby 3) more frags 4) Alk at 7.5 (at least) Thanks for looking! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Lots of hard work, lots of tinkering, and lots of head scratching. Overall, I'm glad were it's at. Just want to replace some of the OG SPS with some higher end pieces, since everything is stable. I did manage to bring the Alk to 7.8. So one more day of double dosing and I should be fine. My issue with the dosing was "stagnant" water flow. Meaning that the area where the tubes were dosing wasn't mixing well. Since I moved it, its rising to the right levels. The tank will be neglected for the next couple of weeks though....Ill be having surgery soon so I'm not sure how much I can do afterwards. Hopefully the Kore Doser will not let me down. Other than that, all the corals are happy....the livestock just keeps on fighting. Mainly the kole tang attacking the clowns. I'm not really sure what or why. I'm currently only feeding 2 times in the evening, and leaving pieces of green/red algae on clips during the day. So I have no idea.... stay tuned! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
