dosing potassium nitrate, calculation check
hi guys
my 300g tank is running super low nitrates. I bought some KNO3 (from NilocG) and want to raise NO3 reading to 5ppm. KNO3 is ~ 0.61% nitrate so adding 10 grams would be adding 6.1g nitrate = 6100mg NO3 to 1200L=6100mg NO3/1200L volume= 5.08PPM KNO3 Is that correct? If so, I can add it as dry weight into the sump? |

KNO3 should dissolve well, although I'd mix it with a bit of RO/DI to prevent particles from landing on animals or failing to dissolve.
That math looks fine to me.
