New tank upgrade

Here is the new tank that I picked up in Fresno. Thanks to RiOnRoxXx for locating the tank that I have always wanted. The pictures include the step by step process of rebuilding the stand, construction of the canopy, and new sump built by Jeff209. Much thanks and appreciation to RiOnRoxXx and Jeff209 for all the help and advice in making this transition from my previous 72 gallon to the 175 gallon tank successful!!!

Stand Complete. This took several hours of prep and sanding. Several panels had to be removed and reinstalled with screws and gorilla glue.

Canopy construction was very challenging with the large bow. A new ABS plastic one was well over $500 so I decided to take on this challenge. The materials cost me $85 which to me was well worth the effort to try and construct one.

Canopy complete after about a week. This took several hours and days of prep and sanding. After prep the canopy got a generous coat of primer and then a satin black finish. The inside was painted with a white to help reflect the light.

Awesome stuff Fern! It was fun building that thing up. Glad you took some of my recommendations for certain details. I freakin' love that garage!

Thanks everyone!! It was a awesome project. It was beneficial to have already had a tank so i did not make the same mistakes again. This time there was a lot of time taken in the setup and detail from start to finish.
