Skin on steel stands

About to start a build and need to see ideas for the plywood skin. Please share what you've done!
Thanks in advance!

Thanks. Did you skin the outside and covered the bottom?

I have a steel stand and when I skin it I'm going to trim the front panel to round the edges but use neodymium magnets to hold it to the metal frame. Fastest way to access the whole underside I figured.

Here is mine. It is a slip on Facade.

Without doors.

With doors on.

The steel stand.

Finished. The facade slides right out if I need full sump access.

Thank you! Did you put any magnets on it? I am actually thinking of putting small castors so I can slide out the whole thing easily.

That is looking pretty snazzy!

I originally planned on it. But it is such a tight fit they were not needed.

What did you do to address humidity issues under the tank?

The stand is mostly open on the back so humidity really is not that noticeable. But the oak has 3 coats of kiltz that has done a great job protecting it so far.

You can see the back a little bit better here.

I basically do the very same 3 sided free standing skins on my wood frame stands.
It's actually an awesome deal, if you ever really need to get in there and get dirty for whatever reason it just slides away from the stand, decreases the chances of biffing your cabinet work.
It does not even really need to be tight to stand freely, the weight of the wood alone holds it, I actually purposely make an 1/8" gap on each side to make it slide out easily and avoid any swelling or contracting issues, which really I don't see much of an issue to begin w/ since I do always seal everything w/ either stain and or clear coat, or primer and paint depending on the build.

These cabinets are all the same way, free standing skin, but once on and doors are on you'd never know it was not all one piece or even attached.

These are furniture grade quality! So magnets are not necessary!

Yeah I'm rethinking my design seeing these. Mine wasn't going to be all one piece it was going to be 3 but this is changing my mind completely.

Well yes I built that as well as the others in my post, I'm a carpenter.
That is just colored glass behind the octo cutout, lit by tank lights.
