there are chips in the bracing strips. unfortunately -- and this is why I'm worried UPS is going to try to screw me here despite clear evidence of their guy being a royally careless arse clown -- I didn't notice them until I got the tank home and removed the sidewalls from the crate and could see in the full light of day

I am in logistics and deal with UPS claims regularly due to their poor handling. You should have a bill of lading or delivery receipt from them, MAKE SURE (if you haven't already) put on the bill of lading "packaging damaged, pallets torn apart, contents to be inspected for condition". If you didn't do this, you have time to report it still. You can file a claim of reported within 3 days of receiving.
If it wasn't noted on the paperwork, they likely will try and fight it, you have options still. Message me if you need to. As you can see, I deal with this all too often. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Further information chronicled elsewhere suggests that the chips were in the bracing strip as sold, UPS' handling notwithstanding.
