Alberto's SPS 75 gallon tank
This is Alberto's SPS dominated tank. This is one of the best, if not the best SPS tank in the island of Puerto Rico. It was a little difficult to take these photos because of the color of the lights but when you stand in front of it there are no words to describe the colors of the corals and the health of the corals.
Here is a general description of the system with it's algae filter, growth out tank, parameters, equipment, etc. Display tank 75 gallon all glass 48l x 18w x 21h external overflow sump 30 gallon + wet and dry grow out tank - 45 gallon 43l x 26w x 9h, acrylic 2 protein skimmers - Odysea improved with recalculation pumps DIY carbon reactor changed monthly return pump - magdriver md 24 water circulation - 2 koralia #4 lighting main tank - 8-54 watts, T5, kz 1 fiji purple lighting grow out tank :2 - mh XM, 20k, 250 watts + 2 pc actinic 03 420n + 2 - T5, 39 watts : 1 coral color light, 1 fiji purple light 2 – 15 gallon tanks used as algae filter with chaeto, caulerpa, helimeda, sand bed 3" deep lights for algae filters : 2 - 6400k and 2 - corallife 50/50 bulbs calcium reactor - 2 chambers DIY – with Brightwell NeoMag inside zeolites reactor DIY auto top off manual with reverse osmosis water cooling - 2 Current USA chillers - 1/3 and 1/4hp Parameters: temp - 80-82 F ca - 460 mg - 1300 alk 7-8 salinity - 1.025 Po4 - 0.3 Fish: 1 clown fish 1 six line 1 scoopa tang 1 royal grama 3 green chromis 1 coral beauty Inverts: 1 coral banded shrimp 1 fedder duster 40 turbo snails 50 burgaos snails 15 astrea snails 10-15 nazarius snails Tank is dominated by SPS, all frags with more or less 4 years old. Lyfey this is not my tank. I am just posting photos that I took from a visit to Alberto's house. Who knows, maybe this will be one of these days tank of the month. It's a fantastic setup.
