Hey Cali reefers,

I'll be in San Diego for a week in January (5-12) training with my college swim team and might have an afternoon off. I'd like to convince my coach to let me get a group together to go snorkeling, but not being familiar with San Diego at all I have no idea what the options are in the area.

I found a few sites online advertising guided snorkels of La Jolla Cove, which looks pretty cool. Anyone have experience diving/snorkeling there?

Are there any other good spots around San Diego? Anyone know of any places that continue to run during the winter months?

Thanks!

i dont know about snorkeling there but i love swiming at Scripps pier. water is so clear and you can go out a long way before the water hits your neck.

I ain't afraid of no sharks! Or ghosts...or ghost sharks, for that matter... ;)

The way I figure it, I live more dangerously every time I drive anywhere in Wisconsin, especially in winter. Between the ice, the drunks, and the deer, it's a miracle I make it anywhere alive.

La Jolla cove was cool, but can be murky.
