Kalkwasser if you want to increase calcium and alkalinity
Or bake the baking soda for 1 hour if you want to raise just your alkalinity!
This will increase your ph!

Your Ph is fine just make sure your Alk and Mag are in check

7.9 is not bad at all, I maintain my Ph with Kalk in my ATO. Works great.

Man it was 37f this morning. But I'll pop some open on weekend. I shut my calcium reCtor down for 2 months. I turned it back on line my all is 10 and calcium 480 so I'm good. Just wanted to bump my ph a tad

that's pretty high alk/calcium. you always run it that high? could turn down your reactor a tiny bit.. i use both a calcium reactor and a kalk top off so that they balance each other out.

2 things I did to raise my ph 1. I added an airpump to the sump, 2. Took my air intake to my skimmer outside.
As a test get some tubing from home depot or lowes attach it to your skimmer, get the house out side. If it makes a difference i ph in say 30 minutes your house has higher CO2 levels and the airline out or a co2 scrubber will work.
My ph is still lower than yours, I use gfo and it causes a big decrease over all on the ph of my tank. I also use soda ash 20ml per day and Kalk at 2tsp per gallon of RODI.

I sometimes raise my pH just by recalibrating my probe. :spin2:
Seriously, if you test your pH with a probe, make sure it is recently calibrated.
Unless your house has too much C02, I would not raise pH just for the sake of raising it. I would focus on Ca/Alk and pH will most likely follow. Kalk is a good place to start since it helps to maintain Ca/Alk and also precipitates phosphates.

You had your reactor off for two months and your at 10dkh & 480ppm? Unless you have been dosing, I am not sure why you would be that high...
Nevertheless, kalk seems to be a good way to balance out the low pH of the reactor.
