Figured it out.... nice job on the calibration. That is much easier than trying to stop pump at a specific amount.
Only issue I experience is if I disconnect, kore 5the screen goes wacko.
I just close the app and it seems fine. I will be watching parameters closely for the next couple days. I switched over to ATI essentials and need to figure out how much to set at...

Has anyone used android app along with an app on another operating system?
Back and forth?
First time I experimented with the android app somehow in the custom settings Friday was deselected on the Mac version of the pump used for ALK. I caught it since I check ALK each day.
I am not going to use the mac app if this version works. Is it possible to change pump speeds as in the mac/windows versions?
Thx

Hi
In Android app there is no option for changing motor speed - however since we are including highest quality charmed BPT tubings - it's not needed.
Even on fast speed doser is ultra precise(offer much better resolution than any other dosing station on market).
But this Pharmed tubings REQUIRE fast speed - on moderate or precise rollers sometimes not spin and dosed amounts aren't consistent.
In next firmware release(which will be compatible with Kore 7th also) that option will be removed from software and firmware(it caused too many reports from Customers which tried to use Pharmed tubings but with precise speed - which is not needed for that kind of tubings).
Built in algorithms allow to dose single liquid drops even on fast speed using Pharmed tubing.
We got few reports about LCD screen strange letters after disconnecting - it should be fixed in nearest update(its not a bug in each doser - some dosers working inside cabinets where is strong EMC field "collect" some magnetic trash from air and thats responsible for this effect).

Is there any instructions?
The calibration portion appears different. I do not see anything telling me how to stop the pump when trying to calibrate
Sorry, I missed your question/

Przemek, I have always used the windows interface for calibration, and that's covered in the manual you linked to.
The android app appears different, and is not covered in the manual. How does one calibrate using the app. I would prefer to use the app as it's an easier to use(mobile always within arms reach, while laptop needs to be dragged out, started up, etc, etc).

Homer it was pretty easy. (actually easier than what I was doing for calibration)
Choose desired pump-Select calibration, doser pumps fluid into your measuring container. Measure how much liquid was despensed,(visual markings on container) input this value, then save calibration.
You can then "check calibration" it should fill the container with the same amount again. (i did process twice)
Go into the actual pump settings and manually dose into the measurement container to see if dose was correct.
(i.e. set dose to 10ml doser should dispense 10 ml...)
Calibrate each pump.
It worked very good...

Przemek,
I was sent instructions to restore firmware on my Kore5th but not given any instructions on how to get logs/data from the unit. Anyway after trying countless times with CRC errors I got the Kore5th updated to the latest firmware. So eventually we got there.
I went to test with a manual dose and noticed the motors all running at different noises and speeds. Even with no heads on they all ran very differently. With heads it's also clear. I reset to defaults to see if it was a calibration issue but that hasn't changed anything.
To me it looks like I would need to change all 5 heads and motors ( one motor doesn't turn and the shaft is rusted. ) which is pretty much the price of a new Kore5th. I'm not sure I'd trust calibration to bring these into line. Based on the issues I've seen in the past I'm very reluctant to do that honestly and spend so much money on getting it working again.
Pete
EDIT: Oh but... just to add, since updating to the latest firmware, the connection over bluetooth on my mac is 100% better. It does actually connect every time so far. So well done on sorting that.
Pete can you share how you got the upload of the Firmware successful for the Blank Screen issue?
I have a Blank Screen now and tried the Firmware process with no luck.
Thanks in advance...

Procedure is the same - you need use dedicated software for update(not control software even if it have upload firmware button!) and press reset switch on doser after you will choose firmware to upload( "dots" are showing on app screen...)

Hi
We noticed some delays a specially with parts suppliers :-(
But now everything is fine - we are on last stage and our IT team do last software updates (to prepare Kore 7th to control class type calcium reactors ;-)
So general informations about Kore 7th:
- wireless dosing station with 7 separate dosing channels. Virtual bottles(low capacity alarms), precision up single drop!(important for Korallen Zucht/Aquaforest users where some liquids are calculated in drops/100 liters)
- digital temperature sensor
- 2pH electrode ports - which allow several configure options like:
a) 1 pH for controlling calcium reactor(it's dosing co2 using solenoid valve like in Kore 5th) - second for tank measure and alarm for too low pH in tank
b) 1 pH for controlling calcium - second to work with kH Lab for alkalinity measure and adjusting(by turning on/off solenoid in calcium reactor)
...
- automatic water change with dedicated DC AWC module(or 2 channels in doser)
- work with magnetic stirrer - mix liquids before the dose(like coral foods etc)
and many other options which will be explained/described in product manual..
We expect that product will be available for orders in next week - before endow January at least..

I was calibrating pump#2 for the first time today as I was setting up for the first time and the screen went blank and the pump stayed running after 10min I unplugged the unit waited 5 min and plugged it back in.The screen flashed a bootloader message and then the time for a brief second and the screen then went blank and pump #2 runs continually I tried the reset button but it does the same thing and I can no longer connect to the doser via Bluetooth. What do I do?

I can not find where you can download firmware updates, I can get to the software downloads and firmware update tool but where do you actually download the firmware files?
I am running Mac OSX version 1.7.96 software, when I try to calibrate it come with a pop-up box saying calibration started but nothing happens until I press the ok or return button. Sometimes the return button will result in the dosing pump selected outputting 4.5 ml of water sometimes not sometimes selecting the OK button will result in a 4.5 ml dose sometimes not. The stop calibration dialog never comes on and if I try to enter 4.5 ml as the dosed amount it accepts it and says calibration data saved but when I try to manually dose 20 ml the output will vary between 14ml and 19 ml.
How do I get to a usable unit that I do not have to live in fear of overdoses and other random meaningless acts of dosing errors due to the inability to calibrate the pumps?
It seems bizarre that you cannot have the app load the current doser settings without having to push several read buttons on each page literally you need to push 20 buttons to get the whole config loaded in the app with the OSX software LOL.

Przemyslaw thank you for the quick response via customer support on a weekend, it looks like I could have the wrong tubing installed for slow speed dosing going to get back home and check this morning and try again I just need to solve for the scrabbled screen after calibration that requires a reeboot after that.

Well that did not work I calibrate enter the value and it save but when I try to manual dose an amount it is incorrect but consistent I could play with the calibration amount to enter and get to the desired amount by trial and error but I would have no confidence in the dosed amount being consistent. when I dose 20 ml manually I result in a 19ml dose. I tried all speeds with both types of tubing with the same result.

Hi,
I have been using the Kore. Last year it stopped dosing for some issue
http://www.reefcentral.com/forums/showpost.php?p=24912606&postcount=731
A couple of weeks ago I had another issue. It was not dosing at all. My corals have suffered a lot with low KH values untill I realised that the time on the display was frozen at 11:04. But the doser knew about the time and could dose with the application.
I have loaded the latest firmware and windows application. There is always the same issue with this doser, I have to use a firmware that is only a few days old. Why you do not make stable versions? I am expecting something very simple from the doser.
The new application works much worse for me than the old one: continuous freezing, I can only change a channel at a time. It is not possible to set channels to OFF. Some errors messages talk about a lamp, when I have a dosing pump, the display gets frozen, etc.
With all the errors I have uploaded the latest firmware but with very small confidence on this software again. I am not confident that an error will happen in a few weeks or months as it has happened since I use the doser . I am always praying that the doser will not download the full KH canister in the tank killing everything. I am sorry to say this, but may be you have to make a simple reliable version that does not crash.
Some pictures off the corals I have in the tank. I have a lot of effort put in this tank and cannot afford the frequent issues of the doser. This time KH dropped to 4,5 for some days. Same as with last issue.

Sorry again for having to tell this, but a more stable solution has to be found. Probably the problem is comming for supporting so many external devices and operating systems. Chinese dosers with built in displays do not have these issues.

You shouldn't notice any app freezing and similars. Latest firmware and software updates work very stable and we don't have any reports about unstable work or any similar issues.
It's working very stable on Windows, Mac and Android devices.
If your app freeze - it mean that signal quality is very bad. Please check doser antenna connection .
Check also that it's not sourced by your computer settings/hardware - are you using Windows app? Which version of Windows it is? Windows 10? Have you tried Android app for example?
Are you using external or internal Bluetooth module?
Latest version allow for saving data to each channel separately only - it was suggested by some Customers - some of them by mistake saved not proper data to other channels. Now Customer need to mark which channel need to be updated with new settings.
All other things work the same like in previous updates - if you hadn't any troubles before now your shouldn't also - if you have, please contact with our service they will help you finding a source of your troubles(during remotes session with your doser/computer).
Please write directly to service [at] pacific-sun.eu cause they are not checking sites like this and can't support Customers thru forums.

Yes, its correct. When you hit checkbox on open pump - its disabled on second pump, so you cn see exactly which channel you are adjusting.
It's made cause some Customers using Windows Surface reported problems with data transfer when all channels are saved in the same time..
Latest firmware also fix issue with strange letters on screen after doser calibration/communciation. It wasn't offen issue but we implemented some new part of codes which eliminated it completly(not wasn't affecting dosing at all - it was only affecting proper data displaying on LCD).

In the USA standard lab 500 ml bottles are 72 mm dia how about Pacific sun makes the holes 73 mm and the will fit almost all 500 ml bottles. Just saying, now back to returning five bottles of Red Sea supplements to the vendor. I guess I will now order five bottles of Seachem reef iodide and see if they fit and if they do I get to throughout the contents so I can have paid $100 for $5 worth of empty plastic bottles. How are supposed to know if a 500ml bottle has a diamiter of less than 70 mm when you buy it?

Just got mine back online. Updated firmware, now the display just has some funky looking characters on it?. Not that I use the display at all, just kind of odd.
If I power cycle the unit, the display reads fine. Next time I connect to it, the display goes all wonky until I power cycle it again.
This also happens when I use the android app and my phone times out(screen goes wonky). I have to wake the phone, close the app, then reconnect, but this does not help the kore's screen. The only fix for that is to power cycle the unit.

I set the doser for 6ml total using C5, 1.2ml per dose.
I checked the activities for the day after all 5 doses had been done (I heard the last one and it was a short dose) but it says 35.95ml dosed today...
I don't think it dosed that much and I'm fairly sure I would have a bacterial bloom by now if it had dosed that much carbon source, but has anyone had this happen before?
I'll obviously be checking again tomorrow as today was the first day of using the doser for this and I hadn't used it for some time.
Liquids status shows the dose should be 6ml per day and says that 6ml was used.

Hello
If You experienced refill alarm of pump 6&7, please use Clean Memory button in System tab and then upload Default settings. After default settings please recalibrate all pumps and set Your dosing settings again.
Best regards

This solved the blinking screen and refill alarm of pump 6&7. Now the doser is back to acting normal. Thank you

Now I have it set for 12ml total, C5 (2.4ml per dose) starting at 2pm.
After I heard it run the last dose of the day I checked the summary on the main page of the software and it stated 9.56ml dosed for the day...
I now have no idea if it is actually dosing what it should be dosing or not...

Several questions asked about pages back. Been sitting there waiting for an answer. Prem finally comes on after weeks of being AWOL and answer the last question in the thread about a magnetic stirrer......
Really? I hate to say it, but this was one of the biggest POS I have ever bought in my life. No support other then if something doesn't work then it must be a bluetooth issue.
How about this, get off the 10 year old protocol that obviously is causing issues and get with the times. Spend a few extra bucks and put a WIFI card in the damn th ing so it might actually work right and every time(you already charge a premium for an inferior product, pretty sure you would still be making a profit if you added a wifi card instead of BT). Firmware upgrades that break the thing so it has to be sent it for repairs, guess what you won't see it for months as it has to go to Poland, if it makes it there.
Sorry to say, the hardware works great, the software is absolute garbage. Pony up some money for real developers instead of hiring 10 year olds to do your software. And for the love of god get rid of the bluetooth protocol.
FWIW I just literally threw this giant POS in the trash and will be buying something else as a doser. Heck might even go back to standalone BRS single doser, atleast they worked!

I'm sure they have their threads on many forums and social networks out there so you can't expect them to chase each issue posted here. Przem always refers people to PacSun service for that reason.
As to their equipment. I think they listened to your suggestions cause apparently new Kore 7th will be wifi operated both from Android and iOS devices.
Finally, about bluetooth issues. I had some with my laptop sitting 3ft from doser and losing connection... While never had them when using my iMac from room upstairs. But didn't like the actual software on mac. Started using android app and never had issue. So is it software or bluetooth issues?

homer1475 - We asked many times here on this topic and on any other forums for direct contact with us on mail at service@pacific-sun.eu as we can't follow all topics in all forums and answer as fast as we are able to do it on mail.
If You still have some problems with Your doser please contact with us on mail we will try our best to solve Your problem.
Regarding bluetooth - we use this protocol since beggining of our production (in all products lamps, dosers) and we understand that this technology have some limitations but also have some advantages like very simple configuration.
If computer which is used for configuration have good quality Bluetooth module there is no problems with connection.
In our new products like Althea T5 lamps we already implemented Wifi connection. New Kore 5th and Kore 7th dosers also will have optional Wifi for configuration and USB for firmware upgrade.

Cannot for the life of me get the new firmware uploaded. Keep getting a different CRC error every time.
And yes I have tried the rescue mode. Thats the only way I can get it to start uploading. I get about half way through the update, then the CRC error.
I've tried about 50 times now and every time I get a different CRC error.
EDIT:
NVM I just threw it away, for real this time. I'm sick of spending hours on firmware updates. New doser on order. I cannot for the life of me have complete confidence in a doser that only works half the time, and you have to spend hours on workarounds to get a new firmware updated.
Any ideas?

Have you sent email to service with support request? If not - hey are not reading RC frequently so you can wait for reply long time...(we wrote that here many times).
Regarding reported issue.
1. Which OS are you using? Windows? Mac OS? Android?
2. Which Bluetooth module (type/class).
If you are getting troubles during firmware update(CRC errors) it usually mean(99% situations) that you are using laptop with internal Bluetooth module with very small output power(Class 4 - 1 mW). They are working fine with your mouse or headphones but cause use cheap radios - not support properly many professional communication protocols (like RFCOMM/Serial) and simply can't transfer one file(firmware file) without signal loss.
They will work quite good(again - usually) when you are programming device(small data amounts are transferred) - but not when they need to receive one file (without divide it into smaller packets).
We sold more than 4000 dosers since 2014 year and IF Customers re3ported troubles with firmware updates - it was sourced by reason like above(we inform about that on our website and manual - that Classs 1 module is needed - or any laptop with "better" quality radio installed inside.
All newest "ultrabooks" are made with highest energy saving profiles - manufacturers are fixed about longest working time and they simply use cheap and weak radios(Class 4 have 1mW output power - Class 1 - 100mW. The difference is 100x )
Thats answer.
If you need any advanced troubleshooting - please contact with our service.
They will br happy assist you in firmware update - they can even do that remotely.

And there it is.....
Customers fault because again, it must be the crappy BT card in my laptop.
Funny thing is, I just looked up my bluetooth card. Realtek RTL8761ATV-CG
Fast AGC control to improve receiving dynamic range
Supports AFH to dynamically detect channel quality to improve transmission quality
Integrated internal Class 1, Class 2, and Class 3 PA
Bluetooth 3.0+HS compatible
Supports Power Control/Enhanced Power Control
Bluetooth Low Energy Support
Integrated 32K oscillator for power management
Oh and I have my laptop(windows 10) to run at 100% power with no timeout when plugged in. So the card is not going into low power state while trying to transfer the data(and yes my actual BT card is set to 100% power while plugged in).
Not that it matters since the thing is in the garbage.
Like I said before, hardware is great, software leaves a little less to be desired.

Please let me focus on facts.
We have only two ways:
1) firmware update app is not working and it's not possible to perform firmware update on any OS(Windows/Mac etc).
if above would be valid - NOBODY could be able to do firmware update using our app because if it's software released bug - this error should exist on all computers(for all users).
As it was proven also here by many Customers - Customers can update firmware on their devices(without matter what it is - LED lamp, doser, T5 lamp etc). All our devices use the same Class 1 modules made by Ryason.
In opposite to you - you can trust me or not, we have much more knowledge in this matter collected since 2009 year selling probably over 12-14.000 devices worldwide.
IF there are problems with CRC during firmware updates - they MUST be related only with that reasons:
a) weak BT module signal (small power radio installed in laptop). Placing laptop even on the doser or minimum distance will not help.
b) antivirus program which affect communication between two serial profile devices
c) energy saving modes, turned on screensaver(which stop BT communication ) etc.
So - reassuming above - there have to be something with your BT module/computer.
2) There is a problem related with your computer/bluetooth.
About technical details listed by you - maybe I wasn't clear.
Im talking about RF transmitter output ower not communication profiles supported by your computer.
It's like talking in many languages (your computer can do that) - but depending how "noisy" he is talking - is possible or not to perform that operation(our doser simply "doesn't hear" him).
It will be easier if you will post here backside sticker of your laptop(with model number and manufacturer info - ) it will explain everything.
Please post this photo here.
And Im not talking that your BT is crappy - it's probably to weak to perform that operation properly.

I have Kore 5th ultimate pack that includes Doser+stirrer+ato+awc dc pumps
When I check the Doser back side there is only one I/O connection wiretap in Manuel awc dc pumps, stirrer.
Is that means we can choose only one device and can’t use stirrer together with awc dc pump set?
I hope not, as there is no warning about this...

Do you have to check valves installed correctly? Thin side should be facing the water and fat side facing the doser.... having them installed the wrong way will prevent the solutions from flowing.
If that is correct... make sure you have the tubing installed correctly. Maybe you reversed the tubing on the dosing heads?
If all that is correct you need to give the fluid time to flow from the source into the tank... use the cylinder to hold overflow once the lines are primed.
If all that is done then I’m out of ideas.

The tubing is the problem.....it wasn't making a tight connection. I purchased new tubing and all the pumps are working. I also calibrated all of them. My only question left is SHOULD I use check valves? What is everyone recommending? If so then do you only use them on the side which is pulling from the containers ? Such as dosing trace elements. I have check valves with an arrow ....which direction do I place the valve....from the container to the pump or from the pump to the contsiner?

Sorry but im confused....each pump has 2 sides....1 that is pulling from a dosing container and the second side is delivering the dose. The delivery tubes/hoses will be hanging over my sump well above the water line. So...where is your check valves installed.....and thank you in advance....pics would be helpful if possible.

I used check valves, I don't think they are necessary but not a bad safety feature. The arrows should be in the direction of flow, so pump to tank placed after the dosing container and as close to the drop doser (if using one) as possible.
See attached picture.

Thanks Syntax.....the only part of the tubing from my Kore 5th doser that will be touching any fluid is the tubing PULLING fluid from the pump, (the other side of the pump and related tubing ends up in my sump). For example: I dose about 145ml of vinegar a day (carbon dosing) so that container will be pretty full and the tube submerged in the vinegar container. That will be pulled from the dosing pump and exits the pump to my sump. The tubing that ends up dripping in the sump is at least 8 inches from the water level... this being said the only thing that could possibly create a siphon effect is the vinegar. So, if at all, I would think a check valve would go there....do you agree?
My greatest fear is that a siphon effect would end up emptying the vinegar or trace elements or magnesium or potassium container in totality into my sump rather than the prescribed dosing amount......and that's what I am trying to avoid. I'm not sure that when the dosing pump shuts off that a siphon effect is guaranteed to not happen.
Syntax1325
11/13/2018, 05:19 PM
It’s not supposed to form a siphon because they are peristaltic pumps. The check valves, I assume, are for the freak occurrence, and to give us type “A” people a little more peace of mind [emoji4]

Hi Pasificsun and All :)
I am in love with my Kore 5th Ultimate Pack and I am using all options for several months.
One of the best investment I did for my tank.
AWC Improvement Need:
I have only one improvement need or any suggestions to solve are welcome
I use AWC DC pumps when I calbirate DC Pump1 (Dirty Water) it never loose calibration as water level in Sump is stable so the head pressure is not changing.
However for fresh mix salt water DC pump this is not the case as head pressure is changing due to the water level decrease. I am using Vertical Style 100 Litres water tank probably 80cm height 40cm diameter. I observe each 2 days need to reduce the calibration amount approx 10ml. Is it possible to add a ratio for this so it will automatically update the DC Pump calibration? Or Maybe an option to enable Fresh Mix Tank size can be entered and then make some head pressure calculations etc according to water level (percentage of filled level) Now I need to change calibration amount every 2 days.
Looking forward to your suggestions or any other feedback from users if they face same issue.
Maybe I have some issue on the pumps and making some suggestions those will not add value?
Kindest Regards

It all depends on whats on the PC prior to the update. Even basic coders know this, and yet you don't?
As it was proven also here by many Customers - Customers can update firmware on their devices(without matter what it is - LED lamp, doser, T5 lamp etc). All our devices use the same Class 1 modules made by Ryason.
In opposite to you - you can trust me or not, we have much more knowledge in this matter collected since 2009 year selling probably over 12-14.000 devices worldwide. Ok explain this to me then... Why can I go back to original firmaware with the exact same BT module, yet updates will not take? Must be my BT module right?
Just look at the bolded part, then go back and read this thread, the entire thing. Every problem anyone posts about, all they have to tell anyone is this same exact thing. If bluetooth works with everything in my home and anything I want to connect to except your doser, even if its sitting on top of the doser, there might be something wrong with your BT module or coding. Not every damn computer in the world that works with everything EXCEPT your doser.
Look your not going to get any response on this forum from anyone at PacSun as no one has been in this thread from them since june.
Anyone buying this should really look elsewhere. I literally threw mine in the trash after 4 months of it intermittently working, then finally bricking itself with a firmware update. There is no way in heck I would spend extra money to send it to poland to maybe get it back working only after several months of no doser. By that time any sane person would just buy another doser and tell poland to keep their giant POS.
And YES I will tell anyone that wants to buy this, to go elsewhere.

Im really happy that your BT is working with everything on your home - but still doesn't matter in situation of BT module not support communication protocols included in Class 1 modules and supported in "full" radios included in this modules. If it would be something wrong with our coding - it should be wrong on all computers/devices or we are going way that every Customer have different software/firmware and doser. It's not working like that.

I'm sorry to hear that you did it. During firmware update you did probably a very simple mistake which I will explain below.
And YES I will tell anyone that wants to buy this, to go elsewhere.
You quoted some my answers to you:
Ok explain this to me then... Why can I go back to original firmaware with the exact same BT module, yet updates will not take? Must be my BT module right?
It's quite easy to explain. You tried to did a firmware updates using previous version of software(which was including also firmware update option). It was working but limitation was file size - up to 32kB. All latest version are compatible also with Kore 7th and size is much bigger - thats why it require different firmware uploader which is explained on our website(in download section you can find firmware, manual and special tool for doing firmware updates in our devices).
I regret that you not contacted with us earlier (with our support which reply to questions immediately) - they would be happy explain it to you and even assisi in remote firmware update(we did several times for non experienced Customers - completely for free doing also some online training for them). If course, even with weak radio uploading "old" firmware can generate some CRC errors (which occur when there are checksum errors during packets transmitting - mean weak radio in computer not transmit all packets properly)
This is totally not true. Think of windows updates, some fail for some, while the same exact computer owned by someone else installs them without problem. It all depends on whats on the PC prior to the update. Even basic coders know this, and yet you don't?
Please forgive me but we can't take full responsibility for Windows updates if they are not working properly or doing a mess with BT transmission. We try to do our software/code flexible as we can but we don't know what you have installed on your computer. Similar situation was on Mac computers with Maverick software where AirDrop service wasn't working properly after new system installed. Before it was working fine - and after released update to Maverick by Apple - also started working fine. Should we say in that situation that our "transmission protocol" was faulty? Rather not I think. I can post several comments of Customers which had problems which their bluetooth speakers, keyboards and wireless media devices. It was simply something wrong with that version of OS. In your situation - Im almost sure that faulty was Bluetooth module in your computer even if it was connecting with everything (as I supposed it mean mouse, maybe keyboard.).
Please allow me to move your any other post for direct communication with our technical department (if anything else need to be explained).
Tomasz from technical support will wait for your any mails on service@pacific-sun.eu

Hello Sultan! :-)
My replies are below(red):
Hi Pasificsun and All :)
I am in love with my Kore 5th Ultimate Pack and I am using all options for several months.
One of the best investment I did for my tank.
Thank you hearing that - a specially here ;-)
AWC Improvement Need:
Hmm, please drop us email to service@pacific-sun.eu with above question./concerns - we will ask our programmers how it can be solved. Are you using latest software and firmware where both DC pumps can be calibrated right? If it will be possible to make any improvement on this from software side we will do it of course!
Looking forward to your suggestions or any other feedback from users if they face same issue.
Maybe I have some issue on the pumps and making some suggestions those will not add value?
Kindest Regards
Thank you!

If you are worried about siphon effect you can you check valves - however if bottles are placed under the doser and tunings output are above water level - it shouldn't happened :-)

Any news about removing 5000ml refill limit, as we have spoken at Interzoo?
I'm still waiting for a new fw....
I found your post now. Can you tell me, if there will be limit up to 6500ml in single container it will be enough for you? With that kind of precision 0.1ml for channel #1 and 0.01ml for all other channels we have limitations for anything above 6500ml..
Please contact with our service for more informations.
Thank you.

The last fw has the same limits of 5500.
For KH dosing, I need 10.000ml or more, but the minimum dose value or precision is not a problem IMHO. Could be 1 ml.
If I dose 300 ml of KH or 298 or 302, is not a problem.
So, if the fw has the possibility of reducing the precision but raising up the container volume at least on #1 head Could be great for me.

I just changed the tubing on all of my pumps. I found tubing that meets your product specifications on the inner dimension, (I was previously using wider tubing...which was working as well). All my pumps in use (4 out of 5) had been previously programmed and calibrated. I have check valves on all the pumps both on the intake and the output. I used the manual dosing module to test all the pumps and all were working prior to letting the unit run as programmed.
Pump #4 was scheduled to dose 50 ml, on Saturdays and Tuesdays only, in 24 increments during the day. Well pump #4 went on yesterday, (Sunday), and dosed about 600ml in about 6 hours time....all the other pumps seem fine. I noticed that the pump #4 container, which is a plastic bottle which holds around 1900ml was "drawn in" or appeared as if a vacuum effect had taken place, (air sucked out of the container). None of the other containers, which are all the same, had this issue. Could that have any effect on the amount dosed?
I am going to check the date on the unit tonight, and I will recalibrate pump #4 as well. I will also make the hole in the cap of the container a little wider so that this vacuum effect (or sucking all the air out of the container) does not re-occur.
Any other suggestions/comments/explanations would be welcomed.
I do not want to have a re-occurrence of dosing 600ml in my tank when I programmed the unit to dispense/dose only 50ml. That would make the unit worthless.

If your doser was working properly before tubings change and you not performed any calibrations etc after - there is no other way than problem with tubing (not properly placed rollers after changing, not proper ID/OD etc). Have you done any firmware updates or changes in settings after new tubing installation? If not and after change you see simply almost emptied bottle it can't be related with doser settings.
Doser don't know which tubing are you using - if it "dosed" more than should maybe there was "siphon effect" (if tubings are different than they should be ).
It's only one explanation of that situation. Our doser require 3/5mm Pharmed tubings (ID/OD) - using different sizes can make your liquids moving inside tubes when pumps are not working.
Editour2
01/01/2019, 12:48 PM
As I stated above.....I switched from using a little wider Inner dimension tubing to tubing that meets your specifications for the inner dimension, (ID). The OD on the new tubing is a little bigger and that made a tighter fit with the hole drilled in each container lid/cap. Nothing else changed accept that pump #4 did not dose as programmed. All other pumps seem fine. I will check calibration and the rollers etc. I will also make the hole at the top of each container a little bigger to avoid any potential siphon effect....even though I am using check valves. Container #4 was the only one that the air was being sucked out of it so I suspect that this is part of my issue. I didn't have that issue before I changed the tubing.

Hello
We not suggest using other than 3/5mm(or 1/3mm) - with 1mm wall thickness. If you are using tubes with ID the same like ours but OD different - it can make doser not working properly.
If you need that kind of tubings - please send us mail, we can mail it to you by post priority(few dollars cost) and you will be sure that's proper like should be.
Please take a look for Page 55 following manual(it's about Kore 7th and kHLab - but maybe your rollers need to be replaced. If you will use to thick OD tubings it will shorten their life time.

The inner dimension is 1/8 inch and 1/4 inch OD. These are dosing tubes from bulk reef supply. I just changed to this over the weekend. I have the kore 5th doser. I checked pump #4 and the rollers were on backwards so maybe that combined with the air being siphoned from the container is the issue. Where can i send sn email for your tubing and i need the pump tubing also since I found one was cracked but not being used.

Can you clarify what you mean here? Are you saying you recommend either 3mm ID 5mm OD
OR
1mm ID 3mm OD
I don't think you meant 3/5ths of a mm for the ID and 1/3rd of a mm for the OD.
Przemek_PacSun
01/02/2019, 10:03 AM
ID - Inside Diameter
OD - Outside Diameter
both - 1/3mm or 3/5mm have 1mm tubing wall thickness.
The main difference is maximum flow - on 3/5mm nominal flow(at maximum speed) is about 60ml/min, on 1/3mm - about 13-14ml/min.
We use this precise tubings on our Kore 7th(but of course - its compatible also with Kore 5th)- 2nd channel - for dosing reagent with 0.01ml precision (its very important when doser have to calculate dosed liquids properly to measure alkalinity automatically in reef aquarium ).
If I should clarify anything please let me know! :-)

Przemek,
I am sorry to beat this topic to death here but I am still unclear.
For example:
when you say 1/3mm do you mean:
1mm is the inner dimension (ID) and 3mm is the outer dimension (OD)?
Secondly:
on pump #4 which is the pump I had the issue with....I found the rollers were reversed, (which I did by accident when I cleaned them). Also I was getting a siphoning effect in the container (only on that container). Could these issues be the cause for not dosing what was programmed?
thank you for your patience with me.
Frank

1. Yes, 1mm is inner diameter, OD is outer diameter.
2. As I said - it had to be issue related with tubings(now we know that with bad assembly after changing tubings).
Of course, without any doubt it could affect proper dosing and siphoning effect.

I have a 2014 first gen doser that doesn't appear to have a reset button. The unit has been in storage for a few years. I decided to re-purpose it today and attempted a firmware update. The display now says "Bootloader Ready". I reviewed what I could find online about pressing the reset button. How do I reset a unit without the button? I tried the tri-state switch from top to middle to top and that didnt have any effect.
Thanks,

so I haven't heard from them but I was able to figure it out.
I had to go to my windows MSI gaming laptop and use that. Windows tells you the exact COM port so it's not a best guess situation like on the Mac tool which port to use. It's weird though that it looks like it's working when you use the Mac flash tool because it'll error out in certain conditions but it can't finish even though it says it finished.
I bought a Metis LED and a Kore 5th, I was going to buy their algae reactor and another Kore 5th but I'm going to hold off now. The hardware is beautiful and mostly nicely made but I gotta admit the support is a mess and you NEED the support because their software is home-brew shareware from 1995. They need to hire an actual UX designer and invest in their software usability.
I was also told a few posts ago that the hanging kit is included, surprise surprise no hanging kit in a new sealed box. I email their sales, they said because I bought it direct for Amazon (not a 3rd party seller), they are not going to do squat for me so I had to pay for one. I don't care about the $30 but it's a dumb move on their part to **** off a reefer with small change nonsense. Especially a prolific poster like me who will happily post about my poor experience.
Also their Kore 5th Ultimate was missing the graduated cylinder, in again, a sealed box. Not very inspiring QC. I'm having second thoughts hooking this up and taking my reliable but noisy BM-T11 offline.

It was me telling that hanging kit is included - please let me explain why.
Wholesalers/Distirbutors choose which type of mounting they prefer - hanging kit or spider mount.
This part is not included is wholesale/distributor price - however if we are selling anything to Retail(like by our Retail shop) that kit os included. Hard to say why it wasn't in your set - probably your supplier not putted it inside.
About firmware update tool - on Windows each device have assigned COM port (depending from Windows version - it could be one or two COM ports). On Mac OS it's working completely different and it's out of our control(it's system requirements).
All our products have video quality check (under CCTV cameras ) and we are able to tell you whop packed it, when and what was inside(ver how CD /cables were looking and which side up ;-) . If you not received some parts from your Kore 5th Ultimate - it mean that they had to be removed by somebody who sell you that predictor his supplier). Im sorry to hear that, if you need this part we can arrange shipping to you.
About our 1995 software - in fact some previous product(some of them were firstly introduced by our company to aquatic market - like LED+T5 hybrid lamps or intelligent dosing stations) were using Bluetooth modules. Actually - all products working with WiFi modules (like Kore 7th for example - also version with kHLAB) doesn't have apps looking like 1995 - I can guarantee ;-) Simply take a look for Android native app for Kore 7th with kHLab(automatic alkalinity measuring module) or forthcoming iOS app for that device.
Happy Easters!

Don’t worry. It’s your bluetooth’s fault or your fault. Not the doser. The answer to problems are predictable and they are normally the 2 I listed. Good luck !

Listen, I love the design and quality of the hardware but holy crap the software is insane. Classic Eastern European software design and quality. It's really too bad because they picked quality components and device design but the software is literally unbelievable how anyone could think this is releasable in it's use for life support systems of live animals.

Wait for their response. It’ll be exactly what I listed. If you read through the thread you will see...my Kore 5th is tossed in the garage. Never really even had a chance for it to run correctly. If it wasn’t one thing it was another so I ditched it and went with a calcium reactor and couldn’t be happier.

This Doser is dangerous.
I asked it to dose 100ml manually. It does it, then it decides to keep dosing and go for 300+ml until I pulled the power.... what the heck??
I'm really afraid its going to overdose when I am not around. I also can't seem to get it to stop beeping at dose even though I unchecked that option several times...!!!!!:bounce2::bounce2::bounce2:
I work in the tech industry, I'm not exactly a noob when it comes to software design and getting things working but I can't believe how buggy this is.... it's alpha not even beta.
Hello
Have you contacted with our support?
We need to know which version of firmware and software are you using, they need to be compatible together(a specially tat you bought doser manufactured few years ago - 2016?).
Dosed working on schedule mode can't overdose "by himself" - it's not possible form software/hardware point of view.
Please let them check what was wrong - it's quite easy checking in doser memory log.
For remind - service@pacific-sun.eu
Thank you.

If you look at the attached screenshot, it's very easy to see that I'm using the latest versions of both the firmware and software that I downloaded yesterday from your site.
I didn't say it dosed by itself. I'm saying, I entered a command for a 100ml dose and it started emptying the complete reservoir until I pulled the plug. This was after performing calibration, saving, disconnecting, reconnecting, etc.
Also the second time it happened....

I'm sorry to hear that - I will check tomorrow your mails history with service and pls let me back to you soon.
Unfortunately - similar like with all other equipment - many laptops/PC's have different hardware and sometimes they are working as should - sometimes not.
Literally - if something is working for big group of Customers and they are using same software /firmware - and its not working for some Customers (the reasons can be different - from BT as you said - to security programs/antivirus blocking incoming/outcoming connections) and it's sometimes out of our control. It simply can't be related(error in firmware) with doser., If it would - it will not work for all of them.
Only what we can in this situations - is helping Customer checking what is wrong and how it can be set properly.
We are for helping Customers - not blaming them(as it can be read from your post) - but we have to had a chance for working with Customer on it.
If you will ever decide to give a chance for your doser again - we will be happy assist you in proper doser connection/configuration.

I see on your doser activity that it dosed more than 300ml.
Ok, so if you set it to dose 100ml - maybe when it was dosing liquid(it usually will take about two minutes for 100ml) it was working properly - and hitting buttons again(trying to break it - which is not possible when you will kick it for dosing exact amount of liquid) you programmed next doses of 100ml each time?
You can simply very easy check it - go to manual tab, set for 100ml dose and compare results(collect liquid in glass/cylinder). You will see that dosed 100ml or 300ml. I can guarantee that it will not dose 300ml.
We work on refreshing control software now(for Mac/Windows/Android/iOS) now so it will not "look" like 1995.. But for sure - doser is very precise and there is no any doser on market which will allow for dosing single drop of liquid per day.
New Kore 7th base on the same hardware from Kore 5th additionally allow for alkalinity measure - which require 0.01ml resolution on pumps.

Here are the steps that were followed, after I finished calibration and setup my dosing program (40ml/day 6 cycles) I tested my Mg and noticed it was low. I did this:
1. Went to Connect, connected successfully
2. Went to manual dosing tab, turned on manual dosing.
3. Entered in 100 ml in the manual dosing area in order to raise my Mg. Hit confirm.
4. Pump starts dosing, it seems like it finished dosing with a beep. Then it decides to keep going.
5. I pull the plug when it seems like it dosed an unreasonably large amount.
I check my dosing reservoir, it dosed over 300ml. I have a Skimz reservoir that shows me precise levels. My Mg was much lower. I use the AquaForest Component system and so I dose exactly the same amount of Ca, Alk, and Mg.
I did not have any other interaction with the software after step 3.
I guarantee you it did exactly this and it did something similar with my Alk but I was dosing into a cup thankfully and not into my tank. I thought it was a freak accident but it seems to be an actual bug where it will dose several times beyond the requested amount.

I think I found the bug. If you ask it to dose 5ml or 25ml or 45ml, it does it correctly. It beeps once to start and then beeps once when it finishes.
If you ask it to dose 100ml (maybe bug is around 3 digit numbers) it will do the same beep and then beep when finished but then it starts again. That is the bug!
Also, I cannot get the Doser to not Beep when doing the normal automatic dose. I've unchecked it many times and tried doing some saves.

Hi,
I bought my Kore5th Ultra pack as 2nd hand 6 months ago and using ATO , stirrer and automatic water change with Balling and dosing 7/24 and never had any issue
I use PC and I do not upgrade software as it is not performing for the latest one which was purely for Kore7th, so it’s better keep what is working without any problem rather then looking into using latest firmware if it has no benefit for my Kore5th
Best investment did for my tank

With Trident in the market, I see no Alk consumption at night. Was trying the C11 to just dose Alk during the day but no luck. Did anyone here tried C11 as timing?

Windows 10 Home 64.
I'm using external Bluetooth dongle.
Software is 1.8.39 (Note: I can't run setup file, every time give me an error that some components are missing. I have to go to application folder and run the application directly.)
Have used with 3 different firmware.
Note: After each update with Psunflash, I erased the memory set to default and restart everything.
1.8.16 and 1.8.39t22 : Both behave the same, all channels dose correctly but no dose in Channel 5 which is set to C11.
1.8.5b doesn't even connect to doser, when I press connect it says connected and refreshing but stays there.

Hi Przemek, thanks for your reply
Yes I already contact pacsun support team and it was a best service. They do remote check what problem at my doser, and they solved my problem.
It seem that I do download wrong software to connect my doser. Do firmware upgrade to 1.8.5b software, clear memort device, and use default setting and all good to go.
And I use broken power suply that make my doser down when pump is try to run. Replace with other power suply and problem solved too.
It was a good service
Thanks

On Friday at around 10:30AM my wife called me and told me the tank was very cloudy. A couple of fish were lying on the sand bed........NOT GOOD. She sent me a video....I walked her through a few things and couldn't figure it out. I instructed her on how to do a 30 gallon water change....(just opening and closing some valves). I ended up leaving work and going home by around 1PM. On the ride home I thought about my doser and if that had overdosed anything. I use the Pacific Sun Kore 5th Doser and dose Potasium, Vinegar, E.S.V. trace Elements and Magnesium. Well as soon as I got in my fish room I noticed ALL of the trace Elements had dosed into the tank. I only dose 25ml per WEEK but the container was full (60 Fluid Ounces) so it dumped around 1775 ml into the tank in about 3 hours. I called and emailed Bob at E.S.V. and he was very good in getting back to me. That overdose sucked all the oxygen out of my tank and damaged the gills on specific fish. I ran extra oxygen into the tank with those portable aerators and tried to do massive water changes while also running carbon. I lost ALL of my Tangs.....2 yellow tangs, 1 purple tang and my 11 year old sailfin tang. All the other fish and all my coral are fine thankfully. This was probably my fault.....about 2 weeks ago I noticed that particular one doser was not dosing. When I finally got around to testing it I found the problem was a clogged check valve. I use check valves at the end of each hose to stop possible back siphoning. I cleaned it and set it back into the tank. I suppose I should have re-calibrated that channel but I didn't and my poor fish paid the price. It would be beneficial if the doser had a fail safe built in....such as either a timing mechanism or some sort of measurement that would shut that doser off in the event it runs too long or doses too much. I'm never going to leave more than 2 weeks worth of fluid in any of my dosing containers anymore. I'm not happy in loosing my tangs but I am grateful that I didn't loose ALL of my fish and ANY of my coral. SUCKS !!!!!!!

Editour2 - We are very sorry for your loss. It's very important to check all calibrations and dose settings after any change in doser or additional equipment. Doser could only relay on data which we will save in to memory and when some parameters will be changed but this informations will not be updated doser will not be able to work as it should.

Hiya folks, needing some help if someone can.
I've just got my hands on a kore 5th doser, I've run through all the setup, firmware update, calibration and scheduling etc but (in windows software) cannot get the pumps to run in auto/schedule mode or manual dosing, they do run in calibration mode and on the manual toggle switches. When left to the schedule the doser shows it's dosing and I hear the audible beep but the pump head does nothing. Any advice would be great please [emoji2962]
