as above, im ordering mine soon! replacing marine magic. i could use the extra 1 doser, and apparently it will continue dosing afterwards if there is a power cut off. for marine magic, you will have to see time on the pump before selecting timer mode.
Anyone received their please do a review here!

jebao doser review :

So i received my jebao auto dosing pump and i got it hooked today. replacing my old Marine Magic dosing pump. The reason why i chose to replace was mainly because of MM's inability to restart working after power off/on and thinking the jebao will be easier to set.
Turns out the jebao wasn't as good as i expected. when i read that it can dose in ML and X times per day, i was thinking it will able to auto calculate the amount of ML to dose after you input total ML dose and number of times per day but no!
This system wants you to set number of times a day (e.g. 10) then set ML PER time (e.g. 10ml) and then set time that you want to dose (e.g. 12pm) and set it for 10 times (since you want it to dose 10 times a day) which makes it just as almost similar to MM. this part was a bit disappointing.
The good part of the jebao doser was it's accuracy. during calibration it was able to calibrate 100ml with almost 100% accuracy!
overall was still impressed with this 4-doser pump and the price was a no brainer, now it just comes down to reliability. But i believe like it's wavemaker pumps they will probably be able to work quite long.

Don't try this. If I want to set to dose 384ml of kh in 24time each day(16ml each hour). I need to press the button several hundred times to get only one channel done. It is crazy, I need to press the button hardly then other pump due to the quality of its button is bad. The display don't dim out, I expect it will fail in a year by running the display 7X24.
I got one of these about 2 weeks ago.
Its essentially a profilux ghl doser. The pump heads are quite robust and the motors seem to be decent quality. The body has a cheap plastic/hollow feel to it. The buttons are not that precise.
The calibration is fairly precise - didn't really have to tinker with it that much.
The bracket set it comes with was fairly useless for me - I ended up making my own bracket.
You basically set number of times a day, interval (i.e every x days for non-daily use) - 0 for daily, mL and times.
As for power-outage - when I got it I played with some of the settings - unplugged it and came back in an hours and it still had the settings. I think it will lose the setting eventually if the power is out long enough (probably a capacitor to hold power for the setting).
Couldn't be happier - beats the heck out of my Marine Magic and I just don't seem myself spending $500 for a doser.

Just got one of these pumps in today. Looks great. Like it a lot better than the marine color I had before.
I am still confused on the interval setting. If I want to dose as many times in one day as possible lets say a total of 100ml. Would I set the number of does to 24 and interval to 0 and set each dose amount, or would I set the dose to 1 and set the interval to 30 meaning 30 of the same doses throughout the day?

I believe you set the interval to 0 to dose every day and then 24 as the number of dosing times. You can then set the dosing volume to 4ml so that it doses 24 x 4ml every day ie. 94ml per day

Got mine yesterday to replace my Bubble Magus doser. I haven't tried to calibrate or set it up yet but it looks ok. The only complaint I have is the power cord is really short. I'm going to have to run some kind of extension cord so I can place it at the front of the stand where the BM is.

Its essentially a profilux ghl doser. .
Just to be 100% clear this is 100% NOT "essentially" in any shape or form including quality, reliability, longevity and functionality a GHL doser. Other than a cheap Chinese company copying the look ONLY of a renowned product.
GHL have the last laugh though as this was launched the month GHL bring out their new Wifi stepper motor powered doser ;)

I've been running mine a few weeks now. Reefbreeders has great manual they wrote for it. Works just fine. It's pretty noisy though compared to my old BRS dosers. I'm guessing it will work just as well as everything else out there, since it's using the same parts being used by everyone else.

Do the valves draw in air? I remember my Marine Magic doser, I had to wrap plastic wrap on the valves to prevent air within the tubing.
twowordz
11/13/2014, 08:01 AM
reefwiser, do you know that for a fact or is it an opinion?
The spectrapure can push 60ft and pull 25ft. They are both peristaltic pumps so they should have similar capabilities. Even if it could only push 30 ft, it would be enough...
I'm just looking for actual numbers or experience.

Questioning long term reliability/ usability.
Some feedback, I bought the DP-4 in Sept 2014, and it came in about 3 1/2 weeks - no issues there.
Pump 1 was used to dose 1 cup, three times a day (237ml * 3) of limewater (kalkwasser) and Pump 2 dosed 1 cup of watered down Mag from Randy's two part. After about three weeks, pump 1 which had the Kalc wasn't dosing, but making a winding noise. I contacted Fishstreet and after some questions they sent out a replacement pump; standing by their product which is great, as it's the first time I had to get warranty support for a jeabo product. Also, I was dosing the clear Kalc, not getting the sentiment.
When pump 1 went bad, I calibrated pump 4, and set the program in. Today, this morning, I put a 2 cup measuring cup at the output that should have read 237ml, and it only pumped 200ml. Not good. I went to pump 2 that dosed the mag, changed the time of dose, instead of 237 ml, it was 195ml. Also not good.
I calibrated both pumps, and tested, to get what it was suppose to, 1 cup @ 237ml. I plan to test the output now every week as that kind of surprised they went out of calibration after two month and one month of service respectively.
Any other tests 4-8-12 weeks in to see if calibration is still in check? I'll keep everyone posted.

If you're only going to dose Ca and Alk, you only need two pumps. Might be nice to have at least one extra pump to dose Mag. That's my plan. Undecided if this pump is worth buying. I'd like to see some more positive reviews first. And preferably from those who have been using it for awhile.

after using for sometime, it worked well for me, Don't expect it to perform like Vertex or GHL, But it does not lose out to other cheaper brand of dosers. If you do not wish to spend on high end dosers, get the jebao and simply just change once a year to be safe.

So I tested this morning and both pumps were spot on. That's good. I can honestly say that during testing and swapping out the pump that went bad, I unplugged and removed the circuit board inside. During the process, I feel that may have messed with the calibration. Initially wasn't suspect since the programming wasn't lost, but does follow logic. I will continue to test monthly to ensure the pump is calibrated. Can also say that FishStreet is responsive, and said if it didn't calibrate, they would send me a new unit. I like that, and how that shows they stand behind what they sell.

That's great service. I bought a doser through a group buy and the controller was bad. Not only did I have to send the darn thing back to China, but it appears to have been lost in transit. I'm doubting I'll ever see a jabeo doser or my money again. Soured my opinion of group buys from foreign distributors to say the least. That 80 bucks wasn't such a great deal after spending 40 on mailing it to China. And it certainly isn't a good deal if I come out of this empty handed...
as above, im ordering mine soon! replacing marine magic. i could use the extra 1 doser, and apparently it will continue dosing afterwards if there is a power cut off. for marine magic, you will have to see time on the pump before selecting timer mode.

So I'm trying to get this because, I'm used to doing it with BRS dosers and my RKL.. I want to dose 2 ml daily total spread out, hourly at the bottom of the hour. I'm reading the guide by reefbreeders and it asks how many mls I want to dose hourly, and for how long to keep the doser on for.. The confusion is, can't I just tell it to dose 2ml a day and it figures the rest out?
If I'm starting so low, do I need to start at just a once a day? I'm confused at having to specify how many ml each time it comes on AND how long the pump has to run for.
Anyone, or am i just dumb.

My pump is still on the way, but from the instructions, and your 2ml/day, I think I would probably do at least 4x at .5ml each time, just to spread it out.
I think you have to set the time, say 12a.m., 6am, 12pm, 6pm. Then,I think you have to specify the amount to dose, and in this case,.5ml each time. And lastly, I think you then, set the times per week, which is 7.
I think that is how it's done.. Lol.. I am not completely sure about the last part, simply because my pump is lost in limbo with ups.. But I think that's the process...

The smallester increment I saw was 1ml... hoping Im wrong. .5ml couple times a day would be much better. The other question is, even if I do the .5ml, what do I put in when it asks for how long to keep the pump on for. Shouldn't it understand that?

Hmm, interesting, but it makes sense that it may only measure in whole ml. And I thought it automatically just ran the ml amount, as that's why it was calibrated? Lol, I'll be able to tell you after Monday however...

why don't you just dilute (with ro/di water) what ever you wanted to dose. If you want to dose 2ml just mix with 6ml of ro/di water. That will give you 8ml. dose 2ml of this 4 times a day. problem solved.
What are you doing that would be such a small amount? Most dosing pumps with peristaltic pumps aren't capable of this kind of accuracy. Only stepper motors can dose that precisely in that small of an amount. You'll likely get inconsistent dosing if you try

I am beginning to dose on a lightly stocked frag tank, so I need small increments. With my RKL + BRS dosers I would be able to run the doser for 10 seconds or whatever an hour, thus being much less than 1ml until I got to where I wanted.
I chose to dose 2x a day, 1ml each time over 10 minutes each time. What two times of the day will it choose?

You can't pick the flow rate. If that unit Runs for 10 min it'll dose WAY more than 1ml
It does not offer that sort of controllability. Most pumps don't. IIRC, you program the time of day it runs. It doesn't do it automatically.
I had mine for a week before I sent it back to China and that was months ago.

Right, you essentially pick the time of day and amount you want to dose at that time. Repeated (but able to change times and doses) for up to 24 times a day or as little as one time a month. It powers the pump head to dispense the required amount set. There is no "over x time period" per dose. So if you tell it to dose 20mL, it'll activate the pump head for roughly 20 seconds (until 20mL is dispensed), then shut off until the next program is set to dispense. If you only need 2mL per day, I would recommend doing a 4mL dose ever other day as 1mL per time is a very small amount and more likely to be inaccurate. Or better yet diluted as others have brought up.

I am. getting 2mL+ out of this when I am selecting 1mL. I just purchased this, I calibrated it as following I think my value for 100mL was 201 for the pump calibration when it had filled 100mL of solution. Switched out different air hose sizes as well. I know its fairly precise but I'm using this for a nano so I'm needing it to work perfectly with single digit mL dosing. Any thoughts?

Dilute your solutions so you can dose a higher amount where the unit is more accurate. This will work for ca and alk and a few other things, but won't work for vinegar as bacteria will grow in the reservoir.
Hope this helps!

I tried 3/16" and 5/16" tubing but with RO/DI water. I had the hoses completely filled before I started to calibrate and/or measure the amount disbursed.
I am using ESV so I don't really want to mess too much with the diluting of the two part that much. I guess if I can't dial it in accurately I'll have to return it...dang was hoping it would have worked out for my situation.
What I was writing about has nothing to do with calibration. It was about enabling you to dose 10 ml instead of 1 ml at a time. There's nothing to be afraid of and it won't harm your esv 2 part at all.

I know exactly what your saying. Mine is doing the same thing. You can do as the other mentioned by diluting your solution: 50/50 mix of half of your full strength solution with the same amount of water, dosed the same time will yield 50% of what it's actually putting out.
Example :
2ml full strength dilution : 50% full strength with 50% ro/di dosed at 2ml will be actually 1ml of the full strength solution because you've mixed half with ro water. It will send 2ml out of the pump at 50% of 100% solution. So your actually dosing 1ml..
It sounds complicated, but just mix up say 250ml of say alk with 250ml of ro/di and leave your dosing the same. Just, if you want 4ml per day, at the pump head at 4x 1ml per day, and only use the half strength solution. That's what i did to overcome its little limitation..
It's actually easier this way for calcium, alkalinity and magnesium for me, as i can dose more times a day at lesser amounts and nit hit the system so hard at once..
Or for small amounts such as 10ml, just dose 1ml 5x a day within the pump. Just because you know it's going to send out 2ml each time. You'll still end up with 10ml power day and you don't have to mess with your 2 part solution at all..
Hope this helps a little..

Just an update, my doser has been running about two months now and seems to have "broken in" I have not noticed a drip or drop in fluid from any of the pumps in the last week. I am dosing 80ml daily on each pump. For the first 6-7 weeks I would notice a line or two would drain back to my holding containers, not consistently but at least once every two days i would see a line not full. Seems patience is key, like all things in this hobby. I guess if you are trying to resolve a similar issue you could speed up the break in by running about 4000 ml through it and then check it.
Very happy with my doser now!

The pump heads are bad. The rollers are not pinching the tubing off enough to keep the fluid in line. Need to replace all the pumps that do that otherwise you risk overdosing whatever you are dosing with them

Here is my experience with this doser. In a nutshell, you might want to inspect the pump head assembly because it appears that mine were installed in reverse.
Here are the events that led me to this conclusion;
I acquired my unit about a month ago. During calibration, pump head number two began to slip (motor was still going but the three rollers were not rotating). I could hear the sound change as it slipped on and off. I could also confirm this visually. Even if I managed to complete calibration with no slipping events, when I set the doser to dose, the heads would slip around five or six times out of ten tries. This resulted in under dosing. I returned it and got another unit. During calibration of this second unit, three out of the four heads slipped on multiple attempts. Needles to say, I had lost confidence in the dosing heads and thought I had wasted my money. I went on-line and did some searching and while doing that, I found someone disassembling one of these dosing heads. It was not the exact one installed in the Jebao doser but the design was the same. I took apart the dosing heads in my unit and I noticed that the way the roller heads were inserted in the pump housing was reversed when compared to the one I saw on-line. I reversed mine to look like the one on-line, I calibrated and tested and tested and tested... It’s been over two weeks and I have not seen one failure in any of the four heads. I have monitored the dosages and they are all spot on. At this point my confidence has been restored.
I did a search on-line to look for an illustration to attach to this response to provide a visual and I found this RC link which supports my finding as well. This is a Marine Magic doser but the design for the dosing head is the same.
(To be clear assembly A in the link below is the way I have installed the rollers in my pump heads)
http://www.reefcentral.com/forums/showthread.php?t=2123530
I don’t know who I can contact to confirm that this is the proper installation but it seems that assembling them this way allows the dosing tubing to tighten/wrap down on the roller heads better against the motor axis and prevent slipping and also possibly create a better seal against the tubing thus preventing the fluid to back siphon.
I don’t know if Jebao assembles all the doser heads in this manner or if this was just a case of one assembler that was miss instructed or not paying attention. Or maybe Jebao received them this way from their source…
I hope this helps someone.
I would also like if possible, for those of you that open your pump heads to compare which way they are assembled and let us know your findings. Specially if you have other brands but with similarly designed pump heads.

My 2 cents - I have used a GHL doing unit for years. It was in storage for a couple of years while my house got built, and when I set it back up for the first time the LED display was toast. Bought a second one that was 'brand new' from a fellow reefer - it's LED display was also toast. Was able to at least infer some of the numbers of the first unit, so I kept using that one until I got the Jaebo.
This thing - seems as robust as the GHL in terms of construction (the GHL's feel like hollow plastic boxes as much as this thing does), but obviously all the parts are cheaper. Not as nice to program, but it's sort of nice that I get to decide how much at each interval, even if it's a PITA to program 12 intervals for three different pumps. Perhaps it won't last, but for $120 CAD shipped compared to the nearly $500 I'd pay for another GHL with 4 dosing channels... I don't really care. I bought this thing for a little more than the extra peristaltic pump that I bought for my GHL unit.
So far the thing is cheap and cheerful, and I like that. If it melts down... I still have two GHL's sitting my garage with nearly unreadable screens I could use in a pinch.

Any updates on if it is still calibrated?
So I tested this morning and both pumps were spot on. That's good. I can honestly say that during testing and swapping out the pump that went bad, I unplugged and removed the circuit board inside. During the process, I feel that may have messed with the calibration. Initially wasn't suspect since the programming wasn't lost, but does follow logic. I will continue to test monthly to ensure the pump is calibrated. Can also say that FishStreet is responsive, and said if it didn't calibrate, they would send me a new unit. I like that, and how that shows they stand behind what they sell.

@Frag Guy-
My pump heads are installed like picture "B" in the links. The circular plastic piece with the three spindles that the cylinders sit on was in first, with the cylinders on top when I took it a part.
I re-installed them this way, and so far-so good. I think the problem for me was that I had pulled the tube through the pump heads (I had seen a youtube video that suggested doing this) and I think in the process, I had pulled too much, which did't allow the rollers to pinch the tubing.

I swiched mine to like the picture A and its used to spin and stop and it spins perfectly :)
All of the other 3 are still like B going to switch im thinking that the rollers angle a bit so they don't pinch the tube well.

I also just had to switch mine from "B" to "A". They were seemingly dosing fine but one of them was dripping constantly (1/3 gallon a day). I flipped them around and I think it stopped. I'll know by tomorrow! *holds breathe*

Thanks for posting your findings after switching the roller heads. It helps to confirm that this may be the proper way to assemble the pump heads.
So far the three problems that I'm aware off (continues dripping, back siphoning and the rollers slipping which causes under dosing) seem to be corrected by switching the position of the roller heads.
Given that we have pumps across different states assembled like mine was, it is starting to look like this is not a one off assembly problem like I first thought and it may be that many more if not all are assembled improperly.
Keep your posts coming we need more results to confirm this.

Why not just flip the roller ? Instead of buying more things there should be no reason to add check valves.

02/16/2015, 02:16 PM
I agree with toky916. The design of these pump heads should prevent dripping or back siphoning. There should be no need to use any check valves. The tubing should be pinched shut once the rollers stop spinning.
In any event, a check valve would only fix a back siphon problem not the dripping problem.
I purchased one through a group buy, and long story short, I ended up having to send the unit back (to China). Months went by and the package never arrived, allegedly, so I started looking elsewhere for my dosing needs. I found a litermeter 3 and one slave for 200 bucks.
Needless to say I am so fricking glad that I ended up with something else. As a sps freak, alk management is probably one of the most important part of my husbandry and after reading everything out there, I never would've been able to relax knowing I had a questionable 80 dollar doser keeping my collection in peak condition. I think this is a great doser for maybe some supplements or foods, carbon source, etc. But honestly, I would have a difficult time maintaining alk and calcium with this thing.
Just my experience and 2 cents of unsolicited info lol

Your issue seems to be different than what others have reported. Unless, the doser continued to drip after dosing had stopped. In that case you would get an overdose and flipping the rollers might have helped like it seems to be helping others that have dripping issues.
Nah this is something different. Problem was strictly with the controller.

If it's loosing a few minutes each hour then I would send it back. That's a big problem.
As far as loosing prime; that seems to be fixed with my suggestion on post #98 on page number 4 of this thread (unless yours was installed properly from factory.)

Just hooked mine up day before yesterday. Unless I'm missing something, it's working perfectly for me. I had been manually dosing up to this point, using a 10ml syringe. After calibrating the unit, I placed 2 tiny med cups under dispenser tubing for each. Then drew dispensed amount into my syringe. 4x it was spot on for 10ml each.
I will be doing this for the next couple weeks. But after 48hrs running, I'm liking it!!

After a few weeks with the rollers switched and going with a narrower airline tubing that creates a better seal, I am having much better results.
I am still getting the occasional bubble on the discharge side, and once a week or so, I will raise the discharge tube for pumps 1 and 4 and reprime them.
I am less concerned with the absolute value in ml's that are being dosed, and more concerned with my levels in-tank. I test twice a week to make sure Cal, Alk, Mag and P04 are unchanged. So far, they have been spot on.

I was thinking of getting one. since it's been awhile since this post..any problems with it?

I just received mine and so far my only problem is that there is a systematic error on the calibration. It consistently doses 1ml more than programmed. See my results:
http://i.imgur.com/prCa6r0.jpg
And yes I've tried recalibrating. I get the same results. Note that the calibration is actually very good, there is perhaps a slight deviation from the line at larger volumes (.3 ml compared to .0 or .1) but overall the calibration has an r2 of ~1 so it's very good. But as you can see there is a systematic error. Every quantity is ~1ml more than expected. I think this must be a problem with the software, and how the calibration is calculated, or in how the timing for the motor turning on and off is executed.
In any case, I can still dose accurately by selecting 1ml more than I desire. But I can't dose 1ml, which is a shame.
Other people might want to check their small quantities are accurate because it could make a big difference. For example, if I wanted to dose 20ml during a day, and spread it out with 20 x 1ml doses, I would actually be dosing 40 ml.

I just ordered one yesterday. Hope I don't have calibration issues...

I got one via a group buy. Channels 1-3 dosed 10% over. Channel 4 was correct. The vendor these came from was based in China. I agreed to send the unit back on my dime for replacement. Well, this was back in October. After the thing not showing up, according to the recipient, I find a familiar looking package on my porch 2 weeks ago....yup it was my friggen doser returned to me with a sticker that states the package was "unclaimed".
Sorry for the long story, but lesson learned. No more group buys for me.

Channels 1-3 dosed 10% over. Channel 4 was correct.
That's interesting, so far I have only checked channel 4 thoroughly. I'm going to have to repeat what I have done for all 4 channels.
By the way, if you had a consistent 10% extra dose (i.e. 1 ml gave 1.1, 2 ml gave 2.2, 30 ml gave 33ml, etc), then that would indicate a calibration error, and it should have been possible to correct it by fiddling with the calibration procedure. By finding the value in ml that multiplied by 1.1 gives 100ml (90.9), you could trick the unit into giving the correct dose. So if you had told the software it had reached 100ml but it was actually 90.9 ml, then it should have gotten rid of the 10% extra dose.
I can't do that in my case because my error is not proportional to the amount dispensed. I could trick the calibration into giving me 1ml when I ask for 1ml but then it would be wrong if I changed it to more than 1ml.
You know, while I was waiting, I got more and more nervous about trusting my SPS to this doser and ended up buying a litermeter setup instead. Soooo glad I did for piece of mind alone.

I got mine yesterday and have it all setup and calibrated. Looks like they pre-calibrate them at the factory? Mine had liquid in the tubes and it calibrated pretty close to the default numbers that were in there already. This is my first doser so I don't have anything to compare it to, but it seems to work and the price was great. I have it plugged into my Apex as a fail-safe so if it gets stuck on, the Apex will cut power if the pH reaches 8.5. I read a post on another forum where the DP-4 got stuck on after a power outage and dumped a whole lot of Alk & Cal all at once. Not pretty.
Also, I ordered the bundle package from Fish-Street. Came with a stand/bracket, tube holder, some silicone tubing, and a 3 chamber liquid container. I'm really impressed with the liquid container. Really nice quality and looks great. Was the perfect fit in my super tiny and cramped sump/stand area.
http://i.imgur.com/U6boOJWl.jpg
And even though I ordered it from the USA warehouse section they shipped it out of Hong Kong via DHL. Got it in 2 days and they only charged the $5 for shipping that the USA warehouse would have cost. This is my second Fish-Street order, and I wouldn't hesitate to order from them again.

Sorry, it's still a fairly new tank and I just started AcroPower a few days ago, so too early to tell. I'm only dosing 1mL a day. I read lots of good things about it and it wasn't very expensive, figured I had a free dosing channel so why not? Hope it works
I would check that small dose. That doser isn't very accurate at that small of a dose.

Yeah, you're right. I just did a spot check on one of the pump heads and it put out just about 2mL even though set for 1mL. I'm going to re-calibrate it in place now because when I first set it up at my desk I was using short tubes. I read somewhere that it should be calibrated from the input side using the same lengths of tubing that it will have while in use. If that doesn't sort it out, then I'll just re-program it to dose the 2mL every other day rather than daily. Alk & Cal won't have that issue because it's dosing larger amounts, so if not accurate I can easily adjust accordingly. But I will be re-calibrating each head and testing the output for sure.
I'm sill happy with it for the price.

Are there any reviews on the newest version (DP-2)? It's a 2-head unit and a 4-head slave can be attached. Both Fish Street and Amazon have them for sale ($75).
I have a GHL doser2 for 2-part, but I have been looking for a cheap doser to put inside a fridge for dosing refrigerated foods. Thinking about this one, but have not seen any reviews for the new model, unless I am overlooking them?

The design of these pump heads should prevent any fluid from leaking back to the dosing containers or draining out of the dosing containers when the pump is off. If this happens it indicates that the rollers are not pinching the hose shut which they should be by design. You might want to check the pump head installation (See post 98 on page 4 of this thread) because this could also cause inaccurate dosing. Most probably under dosing problems.

With all this talk I'm wondering if I did something wrong. Because my doser's been running since 3/25/15 I programmed it to dose 10ml each of 2part twice daily and well my parameters are spot on.
What is everyone using to measure the actual output?
jimmcwibb
04/20/2015, 08:02 AM
The easiest way to measure the output is with RO water and a pair of scales that measure to 0.1g (they are useful to have around in this hobby anyway). 1ml = 1g.

Can a few of you guys post some pics of how you mounted this unit. I want to get one and put it under my tank, where my sump is but it seems like it's better to mount it with it being higher and dosing down. Not much space below my tank to visualize the display and have the pump lines pointing down. Does that make any sense? Kind of hard to explain.

I have mine mounted under, in the sump area. I have got non-return valves on the lines as a precaution.

Non-return valve is a check valve.
I should be getting my DP-4 in a couple of days and I am planning to install it flat against the side of my stand. Will drill 6 small holes on the stand to send the hoses through it and will also try to find a couple of good looking brackets to hold the pump in place on the outside towards the back of the stand. Can anyone foresee a problem with such an installation?

I agree the arrangement of the screen and dosing pumps is not optimal.
I have a raised sump so the doser is actually below the sump, flat on the floor of the stand with the tubes overhanging the base of the stand.

Any glass or NSF grade plastic jugs/jars should work. The tall storage jugs you get at the grocery stores work great.
If your looking for no cost you can get some gallon water jugs from a friend or neighbor :)

That's what i'm worried about as well, its just that my skimmer cup is relatively difficult to remove and though its not really a problem for me I worry about it when i'm out of town and have other people looking after my tank. With a gravity drain I worry that if for some reason my skimmer overflowed the container would overflow. This could prevent it. Anyway looks like I'm going to order one so will give my impressions when it gets set up.

I hear you loud and clear. My skimmer collection cop is damn near impossible also. The line is so thin on these. Though, I'm pushing a concentrated kalk through it fine. But skim gets really chunky fast. But at the same time,I have been successfully pulling mine with an airline for months on end once a week. However, that line comes off every time, with the suction being started with a bulb..

I got the doser in 5 days and the rest about 4 days later.
I have not set up yet and i am also confused about the bracket holder. not sure how to put it together. if anyone has please advise.
Did you ever get it setup and if so how do you like it? Any issues with it?

I am actually going to do it this week or weekend. Tank has been set up 2 or 3 weeks now and i was out of town last week so I am ready to do it now. I will advise once i get it running.
The only thing i still am not sure about is how to put the bracket together???? It comes with a few pieces and plastic screws and no directions. no idea what the pieces and plastic screws are for. If i can figure it out im just going to use regular screws and screw it into the inside of the stand.

I just used regular screws and washers. Didn't use any of the additional plastic pieces for the bracket.

I have the 4 head doser for a few months now overall works well. Only issue I had was with the lines draining bank to storage tank. Issue was solved with cheap airline checks valves in input side of the pumps.

I've never had a doser, but am thinking about this Jeboa.
Is this doser able to drive fluid to a 6 foot height?

Still haven't seen an answer as to what type of tubing is necessary for the internal (surgical) tubing. Can anyone answer this? And where can we get some?
The model shown on page 4 seems to have airline tubing on the inside. Correct?

If you can get your hands on some IV tubing, like from a hospital, that has been working for me.

Did anyone get to the bottom of bubbles on the discharge line? I've been scratching my head over this for a while. I think they must be getting in at the joins with the head tubing. I wonder how jebao fixed the issue in their V2 unit.

I put check valves in on the suction side of the pumps have had any issues with bubbles in the lines since than. After 3 months with them in calibration still spot on.

I just tried that and it made the problem worse, I think because it took more force to pull the liquid up the line, so it was able to suck in more air. But on the plus side it made the air leak super easy to spot, it was on the suck side of the pump, where the airline attaches to the nipple.
What I've done now is remove the nipple completely and instead slipped the pump hose inside the 6mm airline. It makes a really nice seal with a large surface area. So I think this will work better than the nipple and it seems to be working at the moment.

I think you had the check valve backwards. It should not be hard to pull..i did the same thing when i added the check valves..turned them around and everythingsnbeen running great

I just got mine fired up a couple days ago and so far so good. It was easy to program-for me that's a mouthful because electronics is not a strength of mine.
Just curious what you guys are dosing other than calcium, alkalinity, magnesium and kalkwasser. The option of adding four more pumps is nice, but not sure what I'd dose.

Well, I am only using 3 heads at the moment and one failed already. The motor can't turn it. I'm running kalk through it. I installed the spare head and it seems to be working, but a failure already does not feel good.
From now on, I plan to manually check each head at least on a weekly basis-it was dumb luck that I happened to be there when the unit started making bad noises.
Still wondering what you guys are dosing besides kalk, Ca., Mg. and alk.

Interval is amount of days u want to go in between doses 0 for everyday 30 is once every 30 days
To set a pump to dose once per day everyday
P# time per day:
For: 1 (1-24)
Interval day:
For: 0 (0-30)
Than on dosing volume set the amount you want to dose

Here is my experience with this doser. In a nutshell, you might want to inspect the pump head assembly because it appears that mine were installed in reverse.
Here are the events that led me to this conclusion;
So i just got this dose and was wondering if the flip in the rollers made any difference. I received mine with the round disc down in a grove, not up. It works both ways but wondering which is the correct way. Having trouble getting an accurate 1ml dose.
THanks in advance.

Hi everyone! I just noticed this thread and decided to share my Jebao doser experiment. I used one for over a year and a half. Sadly, I had to decide to stop using it.
After only three months the unit decided to go haywire. Pump 1 of the three pump doser unit decided to start pumping continuously. It dumped the remaining part of my 5 liter KH canister. (about 4 liters) Of course, it did that while I was at work. When I came home I heard it squeaking and I could pull the power plug. (And start my doomsday-scenario water exchange. Only one coral lost.) Plugging the unit back in would make it go haywire again, as soon as the program tells it to dose something.
Upon contacting the reseller I was informed that it was a known issue with the software on the mainboard. They shipped me a replacement mainboard free of charge, guaranteeing that it had a new version of the software on it. After installing it, the doser seemed to work fine again.
Well "fine"... it just wasn't accurate. No two dosages were alike. I discovered that because my KH kept fluctuating. Not very noticable at first, but as the unit grew older, it began to fluctuate more and more. I first kept thinking it was my stressed corals that didn't have consistent uptake of the KH. Eventually, I started testing and re-testing on-and-on what my doser was supplying. A 1 minute dose of the same liquid and the same pump could easily vary up to 30% if I was unlucky! (Re)Calibrating obviously was of no use.
I slowly started saving up and searching for something different, thinking it would hold up until I found something better. I would just deal with the fluctuations... And then it dumped my full KH canister in the system again. That was 10 months after the first disaster.
After that I was fed up. I removed it from my system and started doing manual dosing while I waited for my new doser to arrive.
The new doser confirmed how inaccurate the Jebao was. Since installing and calibrating the Polish made "Doser One Evolution" both my KH and CA are rocksolid now for 3 months straight. The pump heads are of a very different kind and need to be lubricated. I absolutely love the solid build quality. And the price is good too.
Now this may seem like an anti-Jebao rant. But these are just my experiences. I am aware I may just have been unlucky? Or it may be my fault to be one of the first adopters? Or maybe it's my own fault, and my 240ml KH fluid per day is simply waaaayyy to much for such a unit? I'm just glad I finally have the solution that I sought.

There is 2 different settings first one is for number of doses per day 1-24 second is for interval or number of days between doses 0-30.
The 0 interval is to dose every day your set number of doses. 1 would be to dose once per 30 days your set number of doses.

The Amazon seller has the old version. If theres till time, you may want to consider canceling the order and getting version2 from ebay. It's $15 more and addresses a few issues.

How do you distinguish version one from version 2?

Not sure. I contacted the Amazon seller and he told me he has version 1. There is at least one seller on ebay who sells version 2. fish-street has version 2 but it is priced higher than anywhere else.
