I lied, I'm going with a Calcium Reactor

I've decided to be brave and get a calcium reactor instead of an automatic doser. I'll install it after I return from the holidays... keep your fingers crossed!
I'm looking at the 418 GEO Calcium Reactor w/ Eheim pump and AquariumPlants.com's Electronic Co2 Regulator. The electronic regulator is getting rave reviews and will hopefully make the calcium reactor much easier to dial in.
Since I'm getting a calcium reactor it seems like a good idea to get a controller for safety precautions and monitoring. I'm looking at the Neptune Apex and the RKE/RKL, but I'm pretty sure I'm going to get the Neptune Apex. It seems like RK is having a hard time with product stability and customer service these days.
I'll also use it to control my lights, heater, and maybe the powerheads in the sump. If anyone has any opinions about Apex vs. RK please let me know!
