random observations, thoughts on life, humorous stories....from the studio while I paint.

A Ship Has Sailed
first one. but it's also important to remember that what has happened, what's in the past, is an integral part of how you "disembark", how you get your "sea legs" and how the previous journey affects how you proceed.Posted 10/02/2010 at 10:20 AM by superkat -
A Ship Has Sailed
Either you are about to go on a new part of your life, or a sort of autobiography on your life.Posted 10/02/2010 at 10:10 AM by Mmckibben -
A Ship Has Sailed
ok, so here's the deeper question my friend....what do you think I mean by "a ship has sailed" in reference to life?Posted 10/02/2010 at 09:36 AM by superkat -

I joined a local club called MASC. They have tones of posts on stuff for sale, and it's normally cheap.Posted 09/30/2010 at 05:18 PM by Mmckibben -

no kidding. Sometimes you could feel the heat on your face. But here's something positive for you....the sunsets after a forest fire? Incredible.
Tada! The Kat is on an upswing.Posted 09/30/2010 at 05:07 PM by superkat -

A Ship Has Sailed
I don't like cruises because they're really bad for the environment. All you need to know is I'm a really big environmentalist, which is kind of weird because I'm also a reefer. I do buy low energy products, and only farmed fish and corals.Posted 09/30/2010 at 03:35 PM by Mmckibben -

A Ship Has Sailed
....i would like to add....just got back from my doctor's appointment. Another reason never to take anything for granted. You never know what tomorrow will bring. The only one true thing you have is YOURSELF. Who you are, what you do, and the people you choose to keep close to you....all YOUR choice.
My advice? Choose wisely.Posted 09/30/2010 at 08:33 AM by superkat -

i remember living in California...the forest fires...right above our house...in the mountains..consuming everything in its path...and you pray...that it won't consume everything you worked so hard for...Posted 09/27/2010 at 09:10 PM by superkat -

oh, i agree with that. We went to Belize a few years ago...and got a local to show us around. it was amazing. the checking out part is a feeble attempt at what i am experiencing right now. it's a feeling of giving up. at best, if i do, i may be able to redeem some of what i used to be...at worst, i will fail miserably.Posted 09/27/2010 at 09:08 PM by superkat -

I'm sorry, I can't relate to this article. When we travel we buy the cheapest hotel in the area, then spend our money on doing things in the area. My family an I travel for the culture, and tend to avoid tourist traps. I like it better because it lets you see more of what's really there rather than the gift shop. An example of this was on our recent trip to Fiji. We decided to hire a local taxi rather than go on a tour. We were amazed at how dedicated he was. He told us what every pant, house, and building was. The island is full of water falls, many of which are packed with tourists. The taxi driver was nice enough to take us to the beast water fall on the island, which only locals knew how to get there. He also took us to a local market that had fresh fruit, fresh meat (like got its head cut of two minutes ago)... and kava.Posted 09/27/2010 at 08:57 PM by Mmckibben
