IM Fusion 30L

Posted 10/13/2014 at 04:39 PM by Despairodyne

By the time I'm done with these nanos, I could have had a 90g reef. But:

I like nano tanks. The Fusion 30L especially.
I suffer from OMPC disorder.

And speaking of often making poor choices, I bought the stand that IM sells for it. I should have made my own. Not just because the stand was 300.00; I would have used up that much in materials. Plus my little cabinet shop is torn apart at the moment so waah. Mmmmm, Ziricote (sawn veneer) aquarium stand.....

Anyway, the top of the IM stand is not flat. not even close. The right front part of the tank sits almost .125" off the top of the stand. and you can see daylight under other places. It won't be seeing water for a while.

I'll get a note to IM but I see a nice piece of thick Corian in my future.

IM Fusion 30L:

SPS or Clams, LPS, 2 or 3 little fishes.

2 Kessil 360EW on goosenecks.
Intank media basket upgrade.
2 MP10s with a battery backup.
Tunze 9004 skimmer that I already have or maybe a 9001.
Blue Line Temperature controller.
ViaAqua 200W or BL 250. Or 2 smaller ones.
Apex Gold.
SpectraPure ATO.
Aqua Gadget MiniMax.

Not loving the IM screen tops. Maybe I'm just a n00b but shouldn't the top cover the whole area of the display. I mean, give a small jumping fish a nice 5/8 of an inch wide strip to jump through is bad thing, right? The borders are a bit wide and the screen is a bit opaque.

I know that cords for power heads need a way to come out of the display area. A BRS tank cover kit, an end mill, a drill press and some silicon solves the issue.
