A Little Background

After 1 yr, 9 mos owning a Nano Cube (28 gal) reef tank I finally feel I have a grasp, (however small), of how to keep my tank balanced. Of course I felt this way several times since the start, and have lost quite a bit of beautiful coral, shrimps, clams, and a couple fish while learning. With the exception of one crash I never accurately figured out, what I call "user error" was to blame, ie: my newbie mistakes or lack of knowledge.

Thanks teog,
Other than it being a little loud, the NAC 5.5 is doing its job well. It did take some time to break in and adjust the water level.

Our first attempt at raising Perculas

Posted 09/10/2012 at 07:04 AM by edandsandy

the larvae seem to be doing just fine, other than we had 3 dead larvae this morning. I cleaned the bottom of the tank, removed 1g of water and replaced 1g of water with the dosing pump... It takes appx 2-1/2 hours using the dosing pump... I added 2ml of RG Complete and will introduce just a bit of BBS this afternoon.

I hope the link works for the video...
