what Radium bulb would be recommended? i'm using the phoenix
14k and love the color is it simliar?

Radiums are a 20K rating and are alot more blue than the phoenix 14K. I am running the Phoenix bulbs right now. And I have to run suplemental lighting to get the color I want. That is why I want to go with the Radiums. Also the par rating that is gonna come out of these reflectors is gonna be crazy. As soon as I get everything I will post pics. I will show progress of the new lighting contraption I have been planning. I already have it built upstairs   I want to look at the deep blue sea in my living room

So whats the suggested height/distance from the bottom or relector/bulb to the surface of the water?

I'm trying to get a fixture for my short canopy and don't think I have many options other than a PFO Parallel reflector .. My canopy is like 15 inches tall total.

I never did get a response from sunlight supply but I think the min is around 10" I know to get the 2'X2' area covered you need to be at 12"

Ok I got everything yesterday. And all of it is mounted and running. All I can say IS WOW:eek2: :eek2: :eek2: !!!! These refelctors are just awesome. I will get some pics up but I want to let the bulbs burn in a bit. I will tell you I ave a new coralvue ballast, a used Blue line ballast and a new Icecap ballast. And I am by far more happy with the coral view ballast and these Radiums. Next would be the Ice cap ballast. The blue line ballast seems to way over power these bulbs and make them a bit to white and way to bright. The coralvue and the radium combo gave me that nice blue color I wanted. The Ice cap is very comparable but is a tad on the purple side but still very pleasing. The blueline just way to bright and white. My .02 I also have them at 16" from bulb to water surface to start. I WILL GET PICS UP IN A COUPLE OF DAYS WHEN THEY ARE BURNED IN! But I am very happy so far!!!

So after doing your setup you think they will work in my hood or is to to short?

My hood is 12.5 inches to top of trim

If i figured correctly with these reflectors it would put me:
9.5 Inches to top of trim or 10.25 to top of water

Thanks

mnestroy- what bulbs are you going with and what ballast do you have? It will work. They were originally designed for use inside of a canopy. But you are gonna shock everything. Is there any way you can raise it and slowly lower down over time. These things put out some very intense light.
