I found a good site for plastic hose clamps. Cheap prices but min. order counts are not that bad (25-50 pcs.).

Just search for plastic hose clamps and choose the size you want.

cheapest glass bits available

Nope,

http://www.thk.hk/onlinestore.php?cid=1

Is much much cheaper. I have bought from them, shipped quick, was able to do at least 20 holes and still seems to be a viable bit.

Please I need help!!!!

Hello I'm not exactly sure where to post so maybe someone can help me out. I am in need of two 1 3/4" outer and 1" inner bulkheads for my 120 gallon tank. I have gone to several fish stores in Southern Cali for them and no one carries them. I have even gone to Home Depot and Lowes to find something similar to them and nothing. The stores I visited today was Vivid Aquarium, Underwater Depot and Aquarium city with no luck!!!! If someone can point me in the right direction of where I may find a place that could carry that size in the Los Angeles County area I would greatly appreciate it!!!!

Thanks again

Just a notice about HarborFreight. Their tools are nicely priced, but you get what you pay for. If you get something sharp (like a chisel or something of the sort) expect it not to be sharp. But if you're gunna use the tools once or maybe just a few times, it's great.

i was gonna put this in one of the LED threads but i couldnt decide what one.. so here is Make Magazines How to for LEDs

Majority_Rules 12/29/2009 12:48 AM

Not sure if this site has made it into the thread, but USA Light & Electric is a great resource for DIY parts to hang fixtures. They have all of the parts included in a $30 to $40 hanging kit available individually for a fraction of the cost. For example:

http://usalight.com/zf-15z-832-i-gri...le-glider.html

http://usalight.com/ag-16-87-48-griplock-cable-4.html

Two of each of those are all I need to mount my fixture.

Link for Plumbing?

I am building a small system for broodstock, just over 500 gals in all in tanks, all under 75s, I am planning a 1.5" standpipe in the tanks, going into a flexible hose into a 2" pipe to the sump, whole system to turn over in an hour which I think is moderate per tank.

Is the 1.5" and 2" diameters adequate?

Its going to drain into an ATS then into a deep gravel filter then to a sump for pumping back up to a manifold above the tanks, that will be 2" also. The AST, Gravel Filter and Sump will be about another 150 gallons volume. I may put a refugium in the sump with Cheato to culture pods etc. Still thinking on that one.

That's all that I can remember right now but I an CERTAIN there are many more out there.

I have read this entire thread, and i noticed a guy who has been asking for a site for GLASS
please guys, answer this because i need to knwo where ot get glass also.

martinmcnally 08/20/2011 06:40 PM

It's unlikely you'd find an online vendor for glass. They could never ship it to you. All cities should have some glass cutting business they supply all the store fronts and custom showers. There are at least 3 in my city of 80,000 people. Search for commercial glass in your local area or call a shower fitter locally they can tell you were to get it.

Hope that helps
Martin

http://micro-surface.com/

Good site for materials to remove scratches from acrylic tanks. Useful to anyone trying to repair their own tank, especially in sizes over 200g's.

Includes man options including buying sheets of micro-mesh if you just need replacements.

I searched high and low for a reasonable price for a big piece of low iron glass. I found prices anywhere from expensive to outrageous. I contacted a bunch of outfits from the Thomas Registry.

Just for anyhow, I contacted Glass Cages. They had the best deal! BTW, a piece of 3/4 x 90 x 30 starfire is $168 cheaper than 3/4 x 91 1/2 x 31, at least from Glass Cages. Wish I had known that from the getgo.

Another source is Grayglass.

It's crazy how much the price deviates for an identical piece of glass. It is well worth the time to shop around.

the thick of the plaxi of cone?
height of the base?
and which waterpump i can replace to es 2800 or es5000? in my country i cant find like that pump

SantaMonica 12/26/2012 10:40 AM

Yes have used Tap plastics before... good prices on materials and builds. Although if you can use regular molded plastics, like frozen-food trays, it will really be almost free. Look around the house for anything plastic, and see if you can use it to build something.

maR1o 01/05/2013 06:35 AM

santa monica, I saw the UAS Algae scrubber on your website, how many do you recommend for a 70 gallon tank. I want to start using them.

SantaMonica 01/05/2013 06:03 PM

Whether you build upflow or waterfall, you size it by feeding, not gallons. I put up the sizing guideline here...

Anyone got a supplier for large diameter clear acrylic pipe?
I'm looking for 6"+ diameter (preferable 10") and more than 6' tall (preferably 10').

Cost is a significant consideration since this is a DIY skimmer. I found these guys with flat bottom tanks: http://www.solar-components.com/AQUA.htm

but wanted more options
