finally!!!

Well Guys

I promised by the weekend and it's almost here.

I am happy to say that everything is in place and we are now taking orders for the 8 way units, the first one is on it's way tomorrow to a lucky gentleman by the name of Tracy.

A sincere thank you!! to all of you for both your comments, your suggestions and your assistance in making this happen.

I have had some great conversations with a number of you.

We have things well under control and production of all the other components is moving well, we hope to have the 4-way within 10 days and the revolutions at the same time.

thank you again

Paul

Looks beautiful and seriously beefy. I hope I can get in on the 4-ways before they're all gone. Any enhancements to the 4-way like a sleep/feed mode like on the 8-way?

Paul, ever though about machining a cover for the motor that bolts down with the bolts already there? It wouldn't be to make it waterproof, but to keep salt spray out.

I have a dolphin 3000 with two scwd's on it... made a Tee with my pvc with ball valves on each side to get 4 returns in various motions. 80$ and less likey to break a seal than a internal moving part that you are not sure when its going to go,,, Great idea though. I'll watch for comments and stats on it,,, what happens when the internal parts put to much back pressure on your pumps. Which Seal with go first ?

NuclearReefs.. yes.. scwd don´t have seals ,but the internal parts are cheaply made. I have gone thru 2 scwd in 9 months. They just stop working. Before that, I have to retun 2 scwd because I couldn´t get them to stop leaking.. I really don´t like scwd. Just a waste of money.

I am gettting a 4 way unit as soon as they are ready to ship..

Just my 2 cents..

I don't have one, im still building my tank, all i have right now is one closed loop to the sump and back up on a mag 7 i think....700 gph but goin up 5 feet its reduced to 425. Hopefully by adding one of this bad boys i can up the gph for better circulation and get waves at the same time.

As I said guys I am not going to get into a war over pricing, nor will I knock other products, but I will respond to questions as to these units capacity.

Someone asked about hammering, on the pump.. there is zero

The drum is designed to open at one port while closing on the other, the wash over means no hammering or loading to the pump, if I had to put a number of some description on it I would say thats it almost the same as introducing a 90 degree bend.

The headloss is the same formulea same as a 90 degree bend.

I discuss all sales before shipping, and will not send out a custom application that could harm a pump...I discuss which version the individual requires, ask what pump capacity they want and then port accordingly.

The aim here was first to build a motorised ball valve for less than an industrial one, that I acomplished, and got another 7 outlets for free, the custom drum allows for 2 further versions, that costs no more, I got rid of the powerheads and also found a way to move water at the outlets very inexpensively. with very small and unobtrusive units.

I think I accomplished what I set out to do, you will be the proof.

I have a number of other projects in the works, also the larger model of the 4 way is underway, likely to accept 2" lines.

please feel free to ask any questions or to propose improvements.

Paul

How will the night/feeding thing work? Will this be something that can be added on later? Any idea how much additional this option will be? This is really what I want to know about to determine if I want to buy one of these.

Thanks.

Hi Rueg
It will be pretty simple, a sensor will read the position of the drum in the 8-way or 4 way, this will eneble you to stop the motor at a desired position, ie at your spray bar etc, this allows you to feed in realatively calm water, this sensor now allows us to stop tha motor at that position if the unit is wired via tha light circuit.

your lights go off, the motor keeps rotating till it sees the correct position and then stops, it resumes again when the lights come on.

hope this helps.... I need to get back to the drawing board.

Paul

Very nice U

Paul your system looks great! I was talking to mojo reef about this and as far as I'm concerned I'm sold! Nice Job! Works out well for me too. I will be calling you soon to purchase two 8 vavle systems. Have a 525 gallon system. I'm going to go to a sandless bottom. Have a design to go over with you. Again looks great. Talk to you soon. Breaking down tank in the next 2 weeks.

Paul, very nice. I like the new design also. If and when I can, I will be getting in touch. Thanks for the pm a while back. I'm sure you'll do well with these.

I did like the clear "alpha" unit you developed, very sexy.

Good luck to you sir. You are a very motivated inventor.

Wow, great looking device. I'm looking forward to reading more. I tried to read through the whole post, so I may have missed this, but what's the power consumption on these?

Thanx for all the positive comments, and other comments too

8 ways are shipping and will get some serious critiqueing soon enough, when they arrive

Working away as usual, production is moving forward with few problems other than suppliers who don't seem to know what the word "rush" means, the larger 4-way is in production due to the requests for larger pump capacities 6,000 to 11,000GPH.

I thought 175 was big untill I hear numbers like 35cubic meters.
thats a lot of water.

Serge give me 12 days, I will personally deliver
Mike I sent mail,
and Mushroom boy, its about 7.5 watts, but I must confirm

thanx all

Paul
