All of a sudden rocks near the top of my tank...

...have broken out in spots. Pale spots, evenly distributed, about the size of a small matchhead. I imported a batch of mini-cerith snails. 25 micro-hermits, hardly bigger. A few Tongan nassarius. A conch. And all of a sudden---spots. Snail eggs take a couple of weeks to hatch. We will see.

I'll see. I'm beginning to wonder if the snails have just supercleaned the rock and exposed a former coral growth pattern, but it's two rocks, which aren't necessarily related. Hmm.

Those are nerite eggs CJ. You may never see them because they are nocturnal.

Well, they are certainly busy--- I got a large order of small snails recently, and in the way of things mating like mad when stressed, they might have. I know nerites were in the lot. But that's more dots than I had nerites, I think. When they hatch, if they hatch, my tank should have plenty of snails.
