29 gallon stocking ideas

I have a 29 gallon that's been running for about 2 months. hob filter with live rock rubble as the media. Two koralia nano power heads and going to be purchasing a hob protein skimmer in the future. 30 plus pounds of live rock and about 2 inches of pink Fiji sand. Currently in the tank is a firefish, 3 astrea Snails, 3 zebra hermits and 3 nassirius snails. Would this work for a potential stock?..

Firefish
Tailspot blenny
1 occelaris clown
Orchid dottyback (the least aggressive species)
1 or 2 cleaner shrimp

I also have a 29 gallon, a lot of people might say that is over stocked but if you can commit to keeping up with water changes you should be fine, In mine i have a clowfish, cardnial, coral banded shrimp, fire fish, and a blue reef chromis and i have had no issue keeping all the levels in control

I run a fluval 206 canister with no protine skimmer

there's a good chance of two firefish fighting imo. all fish on the list are potential jumpers. i'd cover the tank with a clear mesh screen top or something similar.

Welcome to RC

I would suggest a royal gramma over the dottyback. Very pretty, interesting to watch and less chance of aggression. (As long as everyone else stays out of his cave )

How is the clown singly, not as a pair? Is he just as active and not aggressive?

Sorry about that. Just saw this. He seems fine. Swimming all around the tank...

Had a very sucessful 29g (my profile pic) up and running for 2+ years. The inhabitants would be highly frowned upon by many on this forum but everyone was very happy, I saw no agression and had nothing but happy healthy fish. Fed tank once a day, had an overrated skimmer and fuge with cheato and mangroves.

Coral Beauty Angel
Fathead Anthias
2 x Ocellaris clowns
Engineer Goby

I know I'm late but 29g stocking ideas

Wondering if this would work

Maroon clown
Bicolor blenny
Sometype of wrasse
Watchman goby

Thinking of introducing blenny and goby first, clown, then wrasee

A goby could be great along with a possum wrasse. You should look specifically at nano fish. A sailfin/lawnmower Blenny might be worth considering too. They are active and functional. I 100% would against a maroon. It will be blue gill size and aggressive. If you really wanted a clown, then ocellaris. Do your own research and don't impulse buy just because a LFS has it. Put the most peaceful fish in first. Lastly search snorvich stocking thread ..Good luck!
