baby gold bar

I recently traded some coral frags for what the fish store told me was a baby gold bar clown. However, it's bright orange with white stripes. Will it change color or was the fish store guy wrong about an ocellaris clown?

They can be orange. Also, the bars don't turn yellow untill the clowns reach about a year old.

Check the cheeks. See if they have spines on them or not. If they do, you got yourself atleast a white stripe maroon. If not, you have something else. Maybe an occelaris or perc. If it does have spines, in some time, the bars will begin to take on a yellow tint, if the lfs guy was correct.

Im not sure if the body will turn a darker shade or if it will remain orange. Hopefully someone else will chip in and help us out with that.
